“Penalized for a tripped breaker, A simple breaker trip became the excuse to withhold money unfairly.”
Our stay was very disappointing due to the way the host handled a minor incident. One of our daughters used her personal hair dryer and a breaker tripped. This is something that can happen in any home, and there was no damage at all. The host later admitted that she reset the breaker in one minute. However, instead of contacting us right away, the host waited until we requested our deposit back and then accused us of “disrespect” for not reporting it immediately. She retained part of our deposit even though no damage occurred. Additionally, the host imposed “house rules” and a rental agreement that were never visible on Booking before payment. These conditions were only shared after the reservation, which is unfair and not transparent. This experience left us feeling uncomfortable and penalized for something minor and ordinary. I would not recommend this property, and I hope Booking reviews these practices to protect future guests.
