Overview
Set in a 15th-century castle, this guest house features a 3-hectare park with an original moat. You can relax on the terrace and read from the library or visit historic Laval town centre, a 5-minute drive from the property. The rooms and apartments at Manoir Rouesse have wooden beams and views of the large park. With free Wi-Fi access in each one, they also offer an LCD TV and free toiletries in the en suite bathroom. Breakfast is prepared every morning and served in the manor's lounges. The hosts can also prepare traditional, healthy cuisine upon request or serve you a drink at the bar. Meals are offered during the weekdays. Meals can also be made available on the weekend, upon request only. Free private parking is available on site and the Roman Notre-Dame d’Avesnières is a 7-minute drive away. You may also choose to rent a bicycle from the guest house and cycle 3 km to the Mayenne River.

The property is absolutely beautiful, the owners Pierre and his wife were fantastic, they are very friendly and gave directions to a fantastic restaurant. The room was huge and very well decorated. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone. Thank you for accommodating us 😊

We had a very good time here with Pierre and his wife. They were extremely friendly and the chateau was lovely. This is a rustic accommodation, very old, and therefore it has everything that could be associated with it.

Manoir de Rouessé is full of beautiful character. While it isn’t ultra-modern, it has everything you need. The room was a great size, with a super comfortable bed and clean, soft linen. The location was ideal for us and very reasonably priced. Pierre, Nathalie, and Claire are incredibly friendly, made us feel very welcome, and were always helpful. Their on-site shop offers a lovely range of beauty, health, and lifestyle products, along with great wines, local produce, and snacks. The continental breakfast was more than sufficient, featuring organic and locally sourced produce – ideal. Being an older property, there is ongoing upkeep, which we appreciated and which didn’t affect our stay in any way.

“Old world charm on the making”
Situated on the outskirts of laval with the convenience of having bakeries and restaurants in walking distance but had a feel of being rural and private. Stunning old property oozing with charm and history. Lovely shop in grounds where you can buy anything you may need. Hosts were warm, welcoming and friendly.

“Not as advertised - disappointing”
Unfortunately it wasn’t what we expected. The roof of the Manoir was being replaced which we were not made aware of until we arrived. We were offered another room not in the main house but it wasn’t up to scratch so we had to ask for another room in the Manoir itself.

It is still a work in progress but different from main steam hotels. If you are looking for somewhere unusual this is the place. Food was lovely. Best to have your own transport as a little bit out of town.
