Amazing views, great facilities, a fun hangout place!

Location was amazing. During late hours people stay quiet in the halls etc.

This was a wonderful stay with beautiful views of Lauterbrunnen. I could not recommend this more and it was fantastic having access to the huge, clean kitchen to be able to cook our meals. Staff were fantastic as well as the common areas and bathroom. There were also laundry facilities which we didn't use.

The location of the hotel in itself is a marvel. Then the people who run it, they are kind and very warm. We loved our stay here and would surely come back.

Alpine Base was our favourite accommodation we stayed at in Europe. From the moment we got there Johnny was so welcoming and helpful even carrying my heavy suitcase up the stairs for me. He taught us to walk the tightrope and he cut wood so we could make a fire on our first night there. On our last day he took 8 of us, along with some bubbles, to sail on his boat and it was a beautiful day. The location was fantastic just a short walk or bus ride from Lauterbrunnen station. The scenery and walking paths around the accomodation were just breathtaking. The facilities at Alpine base were fantastic- a big shared kitchen, large bathrooms, beautiful views from our bedroom window and lots of entertainment including a pool table, darts, ping-pong and board games. All the staff were friendly and helpful and if we ever go to Greece we’ll be sure to track down Johnny and Lucy’s new hostel to stay with them again!

Quite a spartan room but you don't need much more when the nature around is top luxury. Very convenient kitchen and fridge. A pleasure to sit in the garden to eat with those views. It's a relief that this property is away from the central part of the village and the worst part of the crowds of tourists.

We stayed at Alpine Base Hotel Lauterbrunnen for 5 nights and had a fantastic experience. Johnny and his wife were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. The place was clean, well-equipped, and made for a very comfortable stay. Highly recommended!

“Amazing view at Swiss local camping hostel”

The owner couple was friendly and very helpful. The room view was spatacular and I got up in the early morning chilling with a coffee at a small balcony surrounded by Swiss alps. it was one of the best experiences we've ever had in Swiss.

Been back packing 2 months and this was the best place I’ve stayed. Facilities are so good here
