Overview
On the eastern edge of Vatnajökull National Park in the Icelandic Highlands, this hostel has nature baths and a café on-site. Laugarfell Accommodation & Hot Springs is close to many areas for hiking and fishing. Snæfell Mountain can be seen from some of Laugarfell Accommodation & Hot Springs’s rooms, which are decorated simply with pine furnishings. There is a guest lounge with a fireplace, and BBQ facilities can be rented for preparing meals in the garden. Lunch packages can also be purchased on site for those spending the day out in the surrounding area. Lake Lagarfljót is 40 km away, while in the area of Laugarfell guest will find a number of waterfalls and wandering reindeer. The hostel is 44 km from Atlavík and 73 km from Egilsstadir Airport.

I liked location - it is very quiet, very distant from all touristic attractions. Also the view from thermal pool was good - wild meadows around and mountain peaks looming in the distance. The bed linen and room was clean. WiFi excellent.

“Comfortable stay off the beaten path in East Iceland”
Really nice area to explore the highlands of the east of Iceland. Clean and comfortable with nice hot tubs as part of the property. Breakfast and dinner also available.

“A hidden gem at a remote area”
Really nice and modern place in a wonderful remote location. We only stayed there for one nigt but I wish I could have stayed longer there (provided thereis a good weather outside). The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The food was good. As a bonus I really liked the natural hot pools otside, especially in the miserable weather we experienced there.

Very friendly service, adapted to our food intolerances on short notice. There were enough shared toilets and they are on the same floor as rooms. Hot springs were obviously also very nice.

Everything was nice but I was very upset that they charged me for coffee in the morning. I've been all around Iceland this is the only place that didn't offer complimentary tea and coffee and I think it's rude and just gross.
