Location was great, was exactly what we were looking in terms of closeness to Semuc Champey.

The bed was comfortable and the pool area was nice to cool off in. The lady on the front desk was very friendly and helpful. When we said there was only 1 towel in our room, she apologised quickly, grabbed us another and gave us shampoo and soap too.

It is a very simple hotel—decent enough for a one- or two-night stay if you don't have high expectations. Air conditioning is available in the room. On the positive side, we were able to book our excursion to Semuc Champey and our shuttle to Panajachel directly at the hotel. Our room contained three beds and two small nightstands; unfortunately, there was no other furniture in the room—not even any hooks where we could hang our belongings. The bathroom lacked hooks for towels, a shelf for toiletries, and a mirror. We were provided with one bath towel per person, but no additional towel for drying hands. As is typical for the region, there was no hot water at the sink; in the shower, we had lukewarm water after a few minutes on our first day, but unfortunately, no hot water came out of the shower at all on the second day. The air conditioning worked. Unfortunately, a 6.5% surcharge applies to payments made by credit card. Furthermore, bringing food or drinks into the hotel was prohibited under penalty of a 30 Quetzal fine. We booked our excursion to Semuc Champey and our transfer to Panajachel through the hotel, and that process went smoothly.

“Great place to stay in Lanquin with a restaurant, bar and pool”

This is a great place to stay if you want to visit Semuc Champey and are looking for something more than a hostel (although I believe there are also dorm rooms). It's situated at the bottom end of town, down a steep hill. Our room was comfy and clean and had a nice porch area to sit outside. The staff are super helpful and will help and advise you to get transport to the nearby attractions as well as booking onward shuttles. Tuk-tuks to and from the bus station were paid by the hotel. There aren't many options for eating out in Lanquin so we had breakfast and evening meal on site each day. The food was excellent. There is also a pool and bar, special mention to Brian the barman who made us feel very welcome, although all the staff were wonderful. Would definitely stay here again.

“Best hotel of our trip”

We absolutely loved our stay here, it’s so much nicer than it looks in the photos, such a great relaxed and cosy atmosphere with extremely hospitable and caring staff. There’s flowers and fruit growing on the trees, you’re in the middle of the mountains, it’s a really beautiful place. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Everything surpassed our expectations!

“Amazing stay in the middle of the jungle”

The hotel exceeded my expectations and especially due to amazing staff , Adan and Ruben thank you:) They were very attentive and listed to guest's questions and needs. Food at the restaurant was also of very good quality and the prices were fair. I especially loved smoothies with fresh fruit like pineapple and strawberries! My room was spacios, there was a hammock nearby to chill - which is a great idea. So green, chill - maybe becuase of rainy season but hotel was almost empty and I enjoyed the silence.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, both before and during our stay. Hotel had nice pool and convenient restaurant. we also had a nice communal balcony area outside our bedroom.

We were looking for something to relax for a few days with A/C, a good hot shower, wifi and a pool, close to Semuc Champey. The Viñas hotel generally checks these boxes - but see below. The location is indeed perfect if you want to visit Semuc Champey, as we did with our own car. The staff is very helpful, kind and helped us with all of our questions. Our room was lovely and spacious. The town itself is lively and an experience at nighjt - we recommend Donde Rodin for delicious, cheap and easy food prepared by lovely people.

“Excellent value for money in lush setting”

The staff were very friendly and helpful, not just in reception but also in the restaurant/bar. This was especially true when I needed help about how to reach other parts of Guatemala (I ended up booking the Selmuc tour and a private shuttle through the hotel). The pool was a good size, the room was comfortable and the hotel is located in the middle of some fantastic green scenery. Extremely good value for money!

“A nice stay”

A comfy bed and a great view. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant and a bar in the hotel area, also a nice pool. The hotel offers services, attractions and shuttles. They upgraded our room after we had a problem with the shower.
