Location was the ONLY thing we liked about this property

Basically, the house and rooms look like the photo. The kitchen shown is a shared kitchen. Being on the waterfront also means low tide twice a day, exposing the seabed and its musty smells. To the right of the house are a garbage dump and ruins. The garbage attracts a huge number of flies and other insects.

The seat front view from the balcony is very beautiful. The breakfast served, was hearty and on the terrace with a spectacular view.

Failed to give me bfast but good as was last minute booking lovely view from the top and location dirty room too dirty and the one house mafer was ok casual

“Home far away from home.”

It’s location is at the sea front, the rooftop area offers space for relaxation, there’s also a separate balcony for the room where’s there’s view of the waters, if you don’t want to go up . There’s a plunge pool on the ground floor suitable for cooling down. The breakfast prepared is amazing, there’s both English and Swahili. The staff, Zion and Grace are so good and very welcoming. I have to come back.

Great location, near all the places that matter in lamu.

That place is absolutely amazing 😍 we had the privilege of getting the big room and the balcony has a perfect view over the ocean and the harbour and the promenade. We really enjoyed the spacious room. It's all ready nicely designed as well. But our favourite thing in pwani house was our host Ibrahim who made the best breakfast for us and was always available during our stay. We will definitely book there again!

Ibrahim was the best host, he took care of us, showed us around, ensured that we.knew where.to find food and tourist activities. He.made good Seaholi breakfast. He is well.mannered and helpful.

The property is by the ocean walking distance from the UNESCO site and the town. It was neat and clean. WiFi and security is 💯. It was value for money for sure. Zion was a super host. They organized a boat from Manda Airport. We enjoyed our stay 😍.

We had an amazing stay at Pwani House! Zion was an incredible host — so warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The house itself is a beautiful traditional Swahili home, full of charm and character. We especially loved the balcony and the rooftop terrace. Watching the sunrise from there, with the sea breeze and the sound of the ocean, was absolutely unforgettable. It was the perfect place to relax and soak in the true Lamu atmosphere. Highly recommended — we would definitely stay here again!

Zion was very welcoming, helpful. Even switched up breakfast when I suggested wanting Swahili breakfast as opposed to the usual bread and omelette. Room was always clean and very neat. I told him it was my birthday so he got me flowers: a small one on the bed and another by the nightstand and an additional coconut wine 😊 This is true hospitality. He helped organise the bot to Majilis, tour guide and boat back to airport on my departure date. Location: I loved it since it allows to explore old Lamu town easily. And it gets quiet at night so it’s not noisy. Waking up to that sunrise by the ocean is absolutely beautiful. There’s also great restaurants very close to this accommodation; starting with Moonrise next door and others about 300m down the road with very good prices. Also a good point for the walking tour start since Lamu house is next door and has some historical things to view.
