Fascinating glimpse of a beautiful old building at the edge of a very historic bastide in the heart of Armagnac country . Enjoyable meal. Wonderful opportunity to sample lots of different aged Armagnac.

The opportunity to stay in a REAL French chateau full of character at an affordable price. Phillipe was an absolute joy and the perfect host. If I could score him 11/10 I would! He advised us in advance that there would be nowhere to eat in the village on the Sunday and offered us dinner that evening. Little did we know we’d get a five-course “proper French country cuisine” meal, cooked by him and his wife. Phillipe was also happy to give us a tour and tasting of his wonderful Armagnac whilst we were there. Perfectly located to visit the beautiful village of Labastide d’Armagnac.

A Truly Enchanting Experience at Château du Prada Our stay at Château du Prada was nothing short of magical. Stepping into this ancient château felt like being transported back in time, with its timeless charm and historical allure. The feeling of being in a world from a century ago is palpable, making it a unique escape from modern life. There's no need for a TV here, as the château itself, along with its fascinating surroundings, provides endless things to discover and appreciate. The château is nestled within a magnificent park, where guests can roam freely and soak in the beauty of nature. The tranquil setting is perfect for those seeking peace and serenity, while still being just a short walk from the picturesque village, which adds to the charm of the entire experience. The host is incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was an absolute delight—a true delicacy that perfectly complements the elegance of the château. For anyone seeking something extraordinary, we wholeheartedly recommend Château du Prada. It's a place that offers both history and beauty in abundance, and we can’t wait to return to experience it all again.

“It was an honour to stay and be welcomed into Phillipe and Beatrice historic, family home.”

Arriving in this beautiful, historic chateau, you will be greeted warmly by its eighth generation family custodian; Phillipe de Bouglon and his lovely wife Beatrice. This is an historic, grand family home and not a hotel. You are surrounded and reminded of the families history in every room and the generations that have lived there. photographs, mementos, the grand and the homely. We were lucky to experience a beautiful home cooked , 4 course dinner on our last evening and taste Phillipe’s own produced Armagnac. During your whole stay you are made to feel like a totally welcome guest in their home. The extensive gardens and grounds are a lovely place to walk and just sit. Seated directly opposite the main village square of Labastide d Armagnac, you’ll find a village steeped in its own history since 1291 .

“Tolles Erlebnis”

We experienced a splendid evening with a very good dinner and a special tasting of all Baron du Prada Amagnacs. This was not influenced in any way by the host. After spending the night in the beautiful "Chambre du roi" we enjoyed a wonderful view of the park with old trees. Despite the high temperatures, the bottles survived the transport well and have been stored! This was certainly not our last visit to the Prada.
