Overview
Located directly on the beach in La Tranche-sur-Mer, La Résidence de L'Océan is a colonial-style property offering self-catering accommodation. “Magnificent!”
The manager Bombina was a gem of a person. very hospitable & accommodating. the location is as good as being on the beach. The pool is the icing on the cake.

“Never again.”
Very difficult to find and check in very late at 5pm. Parking not available until 6pm and not through hotel but another party. Having to make our own bed was a novelty and instead of a bottom sheet we got a single duvet cover. Threat of 300 Euro fine for leaving the place out of line with detailed instructions hing over us - mopping the floor, cleaning the bathroom etc, especially as the booking price clearly stated that the price included cleaning the room which is what one would expect. In the end we decided not to shower or use the cooking facilities because of this. We have a booking as a stop off here on our return from southern France but we won't be using it.

“Great location but poor value for money”
The location was excellent, right at the beach, and a short walk to shops and restaurants. The pool was clean and a great alternative to the beach. There were plenty of towels on hand (in the apartment). The apartment itself was roomy enough for a family of 5 (parents and 3 grown children) and there was sufficient storage space for clothes, etc. The concierge (Gregory) is friendly and helpful, and speaks English very well. Wifi worked well.

“Basic but great, we'd book again!”
The accomodation is basic but works perfectly. We were a family of 5 and it was fine. Balcony v small but we squeezed round the table! Location is great, perfect for the town and beach. Amazing views. Staff really helpful. Good hot shower.
