“All we could have wished for and more!”

Mick and Catrina were exceptional hosts and gave us helpful information on all there was to offer in the area, the tips on local markets, the best restaurants and favourite chateaus to visit. All within a short road trip. The location of Par La Riviere was set on the beautiful Dordogne river with a backdrop of high cliffs and secluded, surrounded by fields and lovely views in every direction. We stayed in the Pool View Suite which overlooked the Dordogne river, which was tastefully decorated and to the highest standard. Breakfast was brought to us to enjoy on the veranda with plenty to eat, coffee, tea and orange juice. We couldn't have wished for anything else. Everything was fabulous. We thank Mick and Catrina for a wonderful stay and will be returning next year to do it all again.

Beautiful property with the most amazing hosts! To was massive and had all amenities you’d need. Property was very clean! The hosts were always available to answer any questions. Breakfast was delicious and delivered to our terrace every morning. We’ll definitely be returning! 😊

How to write a review of a perfect holiday. Like every year, we spent a lot of time finding the perfect holiday destination this year. When we came across Par la Rivière, we were sold. Such a beautiful B&B in a stunning location, with so many positive things to say about Catrina and Mick. In short, our expectations were high, and it couldn't have gone wrong. What we experienced on our holiday far exceeded our expectations. The location, but especially Catrina and Mick, and what they do for their guests, I won't list it all here, but they do their job with such passion. Nothing is too much trouble for them, they went above and beyond what we expected. We are therefore incredibly happy to have met these lovely people. And our holiday destination for next year is already booked, we just need to set a date. We love you Vicky and Stefan

The location of the property on the banks of the Dordogne River is magical. It’s a serene, beautiful area and the homestead is gorgeous. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay. On top of the beauty of the home and the area, the hosts, Catrina and Mick, were fabulous. They promptly and helpfully responded to written requests, greeted us upon arrival, engaged in interesting conversations, provided us with a delicious breakfast each morning, assisted with ‘little extras’ and farewelled us at the end of our stay … they were a wonderful part of the experience.

The house is exactly as described—and even better. For the first two days, we had the entire property to ourselves, which made the experience exceptionally peaceful. The pool is terrific, and when the weather was warm, we thoroughly enjoyed swimming in it. The room is spacious, beautifully furnished, and thoughtfully organized. We had everything we needed, and our hosts went the extra mile to accommodate our requests and make us feel genuinely welcome. It’s an exceptional retreat for anyone looking to escape urban life and immerse themselves in beauty and serenity. We want to return and visit more castles and sites, which are numerous within a 20-50 km radius. Many thanks to Catrina and Mick for making our stay so unforgettable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Par la Riviere. We stayed in the cottage overlooking the pool. It is located in an idyllic area, close to the banks of the Dordogne River. The cottage has a unique charm, and I would recommend it to those seeking a different kind of experience. The location is great for visiting the area and for a variety of activities. The breakfast was excellent. The pool was a bonus, we swam every day. Communication with Catrina and Mick was very good, they did everything they could to make us feel very welcome. Thank you for everything!

Incredible place. Beautiful property, right on the banks of the Dordogne with amazing views. Our room was fantastic, really spacious and comfortable. Catrina and Mick were great with check-in, helping us decide what to do, and brining us breakfast every monring. Possibly the best almond croissant I've ever had. The local area is really nice, canoeing was 10/10, and excellent food. Will 100% be back.

Our stay at Par La Riviere was simply amazing. The apartment was stunning and set in beautiful grounds by the river. The location was great with so many things to see and do close by in the Dordogne. The hosts Catrina and Mick were absolute stars and looked after us really well. The aircon was most welcome in the 39 degree heat. The Wifi was really good and the apartment was spotless and comfortable with everything you need for a short stay. Lovely pool to cool off in the garden. I would not hesitate to return 😊😊

Mick and Katrina were exceptional hosts at this charming bed and breakfast. We stayed in the garden suite, which offered lovely views of the garden and the cliffs of Roque de Gageac. The suite blended local architectural charm with modern luxury comforts. Each morning, Katrina and Mick set our breakfast on our patio, allowing us to enjoy the fresh air and nature—a perfect start to the day. As a couple, we’ve had many memorable getaways, but this one stands out as the best. While the pool is shared with guests from the two other suites, we enjoyed the friendly chats and company by the pool or on our way to dinner. We arrived without set plans and often decided on the day’s adventure—kayaking or cycling—based on suggestions from our hosts or fellow guests.

The location is really peaceful. La Roque-Gageac is a pretty village but very busy. To escape to the other side of the river in such large grounds was lovely. The accommodation itself was large, very comfortable bed, and huge bathroom plus a separate lounge. Catrina and Mick gave us excellent advice on where to go and what to see. They also provided a wonderful breakfast each morning delivered to our room / terrace. Mick also looked after the pool well which was really gorgeous to use after a busy day sightseeing. They had just had a new improved wifi system installed which worked really well around the accommodation and within the grounds. We enjoyed eating out at lunchtime and bringing in food from the local supermarket in Cénac to eat in the evening in the tranquil garden. The microwave and fridge in the accommodation was useful for this. You won’t hear anything when sleeping here, it’s so peaceful.
