It was very comfortable, surrounded by nature, very quiet. The food was amazing. The hostel is run by a very nice family, always super helpful!

“I like it here very much”

A simple wooden house, large unglazed windows with wooden shutters and mosquito nets. Fan, comfortable clean bed. Excellent food, the best cuisine in town. The extremely helpful and pleasant owners, full of ideas for activities in the area, have become my friends and I have been coming here regularly for five years and feel at home here. The house is set in a garden at the end of the town and at the beginning of the pastures. A minute's walk from the river, which is full of fish in February. A herd of cows accompanied by barking dogs occasionally pass by the hostel. Frogs croak loudly at night and monkeys swing in the trees right above my head in the morning. I really like it that way.

“Perfect experience”

It is a beautiful property in a lush garden in a quiet part of Macarena. All the excursions were organised by them. Everything taken care of. For us it was a perfect hotel in a perfect location. It was a perfect experience, thank you!!!

“Nice place to stay”

We booked a tour to visit the Caños Cristales and were automatically put into a hotel in the center of La Macarena. There was nothing wrong with the hotel, but after three days, when the tour was done, we had foreseen a last night in Hostal Caño Nevera. A bit further away from the main center than the rest, but such a lovely natural place! Super friendly staff, ready to help and think with their guests. We liked it and would refer people who like a more homey environment to this place!

Beautiful place and next to the river, just after arrival arrangements were made so we could go out fishing the next morning. Excellent bbq's at night were the topping of a wonderful stay. It's clean and silent, yet just few minutes walking outside town. I can only recommend.

Simple, very modestly furnished rooms. Large windows with insect netting. Incredibly helpful and pleasant owner. Helps with everything, he can arrange things, give advice, shows how and where. I've been to the Macarena for the third time and this is the most pleasant place by far.

Well situated in a quiet area close to nature and access to the park. Friendly staff. Nice place to relax and connect with nature. Comfortable with nice amenities for the area.

“Worthwhile !”

The hostel is worthwhile ! Located in a calm and green area, Jorge and David are warm and helpful hosts, ready to give a helping hand or advice on activities and the region when needed. They also provide some tours in the area. Housekeeping was on point.

This family place is very kind and friendly, they love animals (they even have a pet duck!), and they care about the comfort and enjoyment of its guests who visit the area. It's on the edge of town - which is a good for the greenery and peace. While there I saw macaws, a woodpecker, and squirrel monkeys also visited us for a piece of banana. The room and mattress are comfortable. I recommend this place wholeheartedly.
