I've been here many times for the setting, although dated facilities, but a restaurant menu which is a gorgeous treat. I was always leaving 5 star reviews, despite over charge lat time of over 100 Euros before we rightly challenged. But this time, having booked months ago and checked our restaurant reservations, I found out that the restaurant was closed, just a few hours before arrival after 13 hours travelling , less than happy . Yes, there is a slight upgrade of the room, but we were charged for peanuts and a drink each in bar, which after multiple visits ought to have been waived. So disappointed 😞 Look after loyal clients better please.

A good welcome at reception and we were escorted to our room. We had a superior room and large bathroom which were excellent. Good lighting and space which was much better than our previous visit - at a little more cost. A comfortable night's sleep, briefly disturbed by a loud group of people on the terrace, at around 11.30pm.

“Comfortable stay to break our long journey - a good welcome”
The grounds of the hotel were intriguing with goats & sheep grazing on the lawns, ducks & swan on the lake. The animals were herded away to an enclosure during the late afternoon. Our bedroom/bathroom were comfortable and location was quiet. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious and the waiter was most helpful and attentive. Breakfast spread was excellent with great choices and the waitress was friendly and hospitable.
