“Nice, but some important faults”

Our hostess was very kind and made us feel welcome, making it a special stay. The food was delicious and the room itself is also a nice experience to have in Japan.

It was traditional and felt very authentic. Staff couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was incredibly spacious and we had everything we needed including a delightful breakfast delivered and played out in our room.

The kindness of the personnel. You feel transported to the traditional Kyoto culture. The atmosphere is perfect. The breakfast is great, and served at your room. I recommend it as an immersive experience

What a delightfully warm welcome! From the moment we arrived until we departed we were treated with such kindness. Our room attendant, Sakura, was charming!! Our traditional room was lovely. Dinner was delicious! Breakfast was also a treat and the western breakfast option is a very nice touch! The onsen was very soothing. The full en suite facilities were very handy. The location was convenient for us to travel on to our next destination.

Historical stablishment, personal was great

Location, very clean. The hotel was offering each evening free ramen and drinks, which brought all the guests together - v nice moment and gesture. They also organised free activités each evening ( kimono dressing, ikebana etc). Very alive hotel. Staff is very kind and very hard working.

Oh my god this place blew my mind. I felt like I had gone back in time and become a japanese lord (they gave nice kimonos). The staff was so attentive, and the entire hotel is absolutely stunning. Every tiny bit of the hotel was built with meticulous attention to details, from the lamps to the flower decor, the lighting, the chair, table, everything. I've been to expensive luxury hotels, but nothing like this. This was a luxury time travel experience.

The staff were exceptional and ensured our stay was comfortable. We stayed in a traditional japanese style room with beautiful garden views, and was in a quiet part of the gion district with a short <5 min walk from Kiyomizu Goyo station.

The staff were exceptionally welcoming, respectful, and helpful. They treated us extremely well, and wanted to do everything for us. The explanations in English were good, and we received a thorough explanation for the different facilities. The food was great and authentic. The onsen experience was surreal, and absolutely amazing. The room was absolutely beautiful.
