* Reservations are usually accepted up to four months in advance. Only a 5-minute walk from Shiyakusho-Mae Subway Station, Nishiyama Ryokan - 1953年創業 features Japanese-style rooms, a garden and rental bicycles. This non-smoking hotel offers traditional kaiseki multi-course dinners, and in-room massages can be arranged. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the premises. JR Kyoto Station is a 15-minute taxi ride from Ryokan Nishiyama. It is a 10-minute walk to both Honno-ji Temple and Kamogawa River. Sanjo Keihan Station on the Keihan Line is a 7-minute walk, and Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Line is a 15-minute walk. The hotel offers safety deposit and luggage storage. Facilities include a souvenir shop and drinks vending machines. Public parking is only a 5-minute walk away. A Japanese breakfast featuring boiled tofu is offered at the dining room, and a traditional multi-course dinner with seasonal local specialities is available. Air-conditioned rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor, on which traditional futon bedding is spread to sleep in. They are fitted with an LCD TV, an attached bathroom and yukata robes. Toiletries are provided.

“Exceptional staff, great location, and authentic Japanese charm!”
The welcome and warm hospitality at this ryokan were extraordinary. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and kind from the very first moment until check-out. They even gave us a lovely little gift for our honeymoon—an unexpected surprise that we absolutely loved and appreciated so much! We truly want to thank the whole staff for such a kind and thoughtful gesture. The traditional style of the hotel is beautiful, and the location is absolutely excellent, making it very convenient to explore. We also thoroughly enjoyed the activities organized by the property: both the tea ceremony and the samurai event were fantastic experiences that we would definitely do again. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to use the public baths (onsen), which was a pity as they looked very relaxing.

THE BEST EXPERIENCE IN KYOTO! We arrived and the staff was SO friendly. They showed us the room, which is beautiful; we really felt that amazing, lovely vibe! The tatami mats are gorgeous! The room is insanely beautiful!! And we had the opportunity to go to the onsen at the ryokan! An unparalleled experience. My fiancé and I left so happy! We are so pleased. We highly recommend this place! When we left, they gave us a beautiful gift and a photo to celebrate our engagement! Happy is an understatement! Thank you so much! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🩷🌸🌸🙏🏼🙏🏼🤩🤩

“Wonderful stay”
Wonderful stay. The service, location and ryokan were perfect. We had the most delicious breakfast at the ryokan and the tea ceremony was one the highlights of our trip. There was a free walking tour set up by the ryokan so would advise to do this!

WE had a fantastic stay and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. What stood out the most was the incredible attentiveness of the staff. You can really feel the Japanese hospitality here. The tea ceremony was a highlight, it was clear how much effort and heart they put into every detail. Also, the small gifts and personal touches were a great surprise and made us feel very welcome. A huge thank you to the whole team for making our time in Kyoto so special. I highly recommend this place! 心のこもったおもてなしをありがとうございました。最高の滞在でした！
