I loved everything about the MIMARU Kyoto Nijo Castle. I originally booked primarily for the convenience of having a washer/dryer available, but that pales into insignificance when compared with everything else the hotel offers. The staff were amazing - friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, excellent English, and willing to provide insights into any questions I had. The location is superb, the room was beyond what I was expecting - large, spotlessly clean, with all the facilities you could want. The information available from the hotel for attractions nearby was hugely appreciated. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Kyoto (and I am definitely coming back!), and would highly recommend the MIMARU Kyoto Nijo Castle to anyone considering visiting this amazing city.

The rooms at Mimaru are perfect for families, we had two interconnecting rooms with plenty of space and sleeping options for a family of 5. The hotel is in a good location, with short walks to transport and to Kyoto castle. There are plenty of food options nearby, including supermarkets.

Our room was clean and well-appointed. We love the shower room and Toto Washlet. The in-room washer/dryer was a huge bonus as we were able to run the laundry while we were busy sightseeing. The location was excellent. The best part were the staff, who were kind and helpful during our stay.

Beautiful doesn’t even begin to describe this place. The apartment was incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean. Everything was excellent—from the facilities to the overall experience. The staff were attentive, kind, and always ready to help. The location is also very convenient. Truly spectacular in every way—we would absolutely stay here again!

Great location, great facilities especially with young children (possibility to have a crib, a baby chair, etc), very nice staff. Well equipped and organized apartment.

The staff was amazing, the room, super cozy and it was just amazing to have a kitchen and a fridge. There's so many shops nearby. But one thing I will never forget is the bathtub and the view. 🥰 Will book again in the future if i ever come back to Japan.

A modern, well laid out, clean and comfortable room for my family of 5. Sufficient space, with suitcases stored in the cupboard once the futons were taken out. Kids said futons were very comfortable sleeping on the floor. My husband and I found the bed very comfortable. Handy having a washer/dryer to do a few loads of washing half way through our trip! Staff were very kind and helpful whenever we required anything. Free amenities also included at reception and a drinking water fountain.

Comfortable stay with family of 5, self contained, very friendly helpful staff

A lovely hotel with helpful staff. The room was for 5 and might have been ok if kids were toddler ages. But for my teen and tweens and all the luggage we couldn’t fit and had to pay for an extra room. Luckily there was one!! The pillows were like bricks but that’s about the only negative. Authentic yet modern vibe.

The rooms are spacious and clean. They prepare utensils for Muslim-friendly and prayer mat as per my request, as well as iron and ironing board. The staffs were very helpful and attentive. My kids enjoy colouring in the Kids Corner and when one of the staff saw us waiting for them to finish colouring, he provide colouring pencils for my kids to borrow and colour in the room. They even surprise my aunt with a birthday gift and card!
