Living the house in itself was an amazing experience, aside from the actual holiday you are having. It takes you back 100+ years, still preserving a perfect mix of ancient tools and materials and modern amenities, a smart use of light, and a fully equipped kitchen

“Amazing "18th century living" cosy cuteness overload house”

We loved everything about the house, so cute and cosy. All the cute little details, amazing! Neigbourhood and surround are like a romantic fairytail. We were both to tall for the house but we loved to travel back in time and to "live in the 18th century" we where joking all the time like we were in that time.

We had a lovely stay in Marianna's house. It is very pretty inside, with lots of authentic decoration. Kvivik is a very nice village to stay in - definitely visit Kvivik knits just up the street. The bathroom downstairs is very modern and it's great there is a toilet upstairs so you don't have to go down the ladder in the night. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Lovely house situated in the center of the small village of Kvivík off the main roads, so it is quite silent place. However it is well connected to road network (about 3 km to the end of Vágar tunnel), so most of the places on the islands are within one hour ride reach. Access to the bathroom through the hatch is quite fancy as well as heated floor in the shower. But beware - if you cannot climb a staircase - this accommodation is not for you.

Stepping inside this quaint cottage was like going back in time. So atmospheric, so charming with squeaky wooden floors, low beams, and traditional decor. But the facilities were perfectly modern (dishwasher, shower etc). The situation is utterly beautiful - on the river, close to the Viking longhouse remains and the sea.

I loved everything about the cottage. It has a warm feel to it and it has everything you need, including facilities for washing and drying (which is needed with the rainy days and muddy trails). Very friendly hosts.

“Cozy house”

We stayed 12 days in this tradition cozy house. With my 1,9 meter it’s a bit tricky but we also had a lot of laughs when i bumped my head. Shout out to Marianna for her fast response and service. The town is on a beautiful spot and from here you can reach al the points you wanna see on a daily base. Supermarket is a 15 minute ride away. If you want a beer or wine keep in mind they have state liquor shops. Only open on some days or hours.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this charming house near the river, and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the stunning views of the Faroen hills and the soothing sound of the nearby river. The house itself is a true gem, beautifully crafted with traditional wooden details that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's clear that a lot of love and attention has gone into every aspect of this property, from the comfortable furnishings to the well-equipped kitchen. Another great feature of the house is the sound of the river, which creates a soothing white noise that lulls us to sleep each night. We both slept soundly and woke up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. One of the highlights of our stay was our host, Marianna. She was incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of her way to ensure that we had everything we needed! Thank you, Marianna! Overall, we recommend this property highly! It's the perfect retreat for couples or small families looking for a taste of traditional charm and natural beauty.

Location was great! We loved the atmosphere of this house and it had everything we needed.

Fitted our needs perfectly - quiet, cosy, peaceful area with an amazing view. Bed was very comfy, house was warm and well-stocked if you were looking to self-cater. Host was exceptionally helpful with any questions/queries, and quick to respond as well, even on a weekend! Loved the heated shower floor and general ambience of downstairs bathroom. Overall a 10+/10 stay - already planning our return trip!

All. The house is lovely, has a very unique style and atmosphere. It has everything, it is cured in every detail. Waking up with only the sound of a stream is priceless. Marianna was very kind, very welcoming and gave us valuable information on the activities to do in the Faroe Islands. The location is excellent, very close to the western islands (Vagar and Mykines), but at the same time also close to the vices of the capital Torshsvn. We will come back one day, I hope, in the meantime I highly recommend the house.
