“Highly recommend. Perfect for hikers on the trail.”
Everything but mostly the hospitality of the host. It was right on the trail for Ohechi. Food was delicious. We were given traditional Japanese dinner with local specialties, including sashimi which was prepared by host. It was such a unique experience. We loved seeing the sea turtles. The futons were cozy and the apartment was clean.

Great location, close to the train station, beach, onsen, and there are some restaurants nearby in walking distance. Fabulous sunset view. The host is extremely friendly and helpful. We hadn't her at tje restaurant she worked for during our walk in Kumano Kodo Ohechi.

“Away from the madding crowds”
Nouri the owner kindly picked me up from train station some 20 minutes from his house. He assisted getting my train bookings out. We also visited diving shop that spoke English for arrangements. The house is very traditional manka style with zen garden in front. Able to use kitchen with permission in addition to microwave in main house. Fortunate to be the only guest so peace and quiet.

We had a nice stay in Kushimoto/Wabuka and felt welcome and at home. Our host was most helpfull and very accomodating. In the morning he served a nice japanese breakfast and even took us to the harbour to show us where we could see sea turtles - which we did.:-)

“Comfy stay during kumano kodo hike”
Hospitable owner. Good location during my kumano kodo ohechi hike. Near Tako train station (900m) and bus stop just at door front. Communal room and free ocha tea bag available. No restaurants nearby but the owner can cook dinner (2000yen) and breakfast (included in my booking) for you.
