Location - in the heart of historic area. - room is spacious and very quiet. Con - room located on 2nd floor. If you have mobility issue, do consider as there is no lift provided.

Beautifully appointed, stylish and comfortable retreat in the perfect spot to enjoy Kurashiki. Owners clearly have a flair for design and the space is curated really nicely. Appreciated the little touches like fresh flowers, bread and jams.

A beautifully curated, peaceful and calm modern Japanese style space up a narrow flight of stairs. There is even your own pocket sized balcony overlooking the rooftops. Everything is artfully thought out. The hosts provide thorough and thoughtful information about everything. Including local restaurants and attractions as well as information about how to use all the appliances in the room. They have also recently begun offering a breakfast delivery. . The perfect place to expose this beautiful and interesting area and the come ba into your own idyllic retreat.

“Exceptional stay”

The stay was exceptional! Everything has been thought off and the room and everything in it are of high quality. The bread basket and fruits were phenomenal. The staff were very helpful too.

Great location, the flat was very cosy and well designed with all the necessary. Bathroom was modern and the futon beds confortable. Extra plus for the bread slices to toast in the morning.

Accommodation was beautiful. Very clean, modern and in a great location. Walking distance to everything. A light breakfast was provided each day (fruit, bread, rolls, water, coffee, tea, juice). Soft pyjamas, slippers, soft towels, shampoo, condition, etc. Had a great roof top deck. All lovely.

Everything about the space is inspired. It has beautiful structure, timeless pieces & such a wonderful style. The fresh fruit, bread (and spreads) and coffee/tea were delicious, and I will always have fond memories of my time spent here.

We felt very well cared for. The place is very clean, comfy and well located. If you love crafts, you’ll be very happy here as all the dishes are hand made and sold in the art gallery.

The apartment is spacious, modern and fully equipped, it was such a comfortable stay. The must is its location, directly in the Bikan historical quarter. The staff is really kind and helpful!

Though it’s not a “hotel” as we expected, we were greatly surprised by the level of services it provided. In our opinions, it is comparable to a 5-Star Hotel. The room is spacious, well designed making us feel like living in a cozy home. It is new, clean, and comfortable to sit, sleep, talk, eat, shower, or to do anything with the tiny —yet containing everything you need in a kitchen— cupboard style kitchen. The bread, fruit, coffee/tea, milk, jam etc were all very fresh and tasty. The bed, pillows and duvets are super comfortable. Most importantly, the mattress is hard yet soft enough to support our back. Everything in the room is nicely and artistically decorated and arranged. Even the small roof top area is good to enjoy. The only thing I needed to be careful with is the stairs going up to the room or to the roof balcony. I have quite weak knees and we are not used to steep stairs which are common in Japanese buildings. The Manager Fast-san is extremely service-oriented. She asked through email in advance in order to prepare for our arrival. She is so kind to arrange an oven toaster for us upon our special request. She provided all the information we needed and even booked dinner tables for us at two of her recommended restaurants. On our departure day, the staff offered to take our luggage down to the taxi Fast-san booked for us in advance, as I’m very concerned about the stairs (we are over 60 years old). We have nothing to complain about Toutou, which is rare in my nearly 50 years of travel history. Thank you very much for Rie Fast San and your team in making our stay in Toutou so memorable.

“Lovely apartment above the gallery”

A lovely apartment above an art gallery. We arrived early and the staff in the gallery looked after our luggage and had it waiting for us in our room at check in time. I could not fault the apartment - comfortable beds and pillows, kitchen with a lovely breakfast each day, great facilities and a rooftop area to sit and enjoy. Right in the historical quarter which is lovely to explore. Thank you for having us we would love to come back one day.

Exquisite design, warm and wonderful hospitality and such nice touches with fresh fruits, jam, butter, coffee to start of your day on the right foot from this little gem. Fantastic location, and the pottery gallery below was our absolute favorite in town. Total recommend.
