Everything about Toutou Onzaki Machiya no Yado was perfect, from the smallest details like the handcrafted cup coasters, the artisanal kitchen ware, and the coffee brewing equipment, to the quiet aesthetics of the house, the architecture, equally traditional and modern, geared to create an atmosphere of relaxation and peace. I can't think of a better place or location to spend one or two incredible days at Kurashiki, and I can't wait to be back.

So much to like - location in heart of Bikan quarter, modern stylish Japanese themed accommodation. Sofa seating and beautiful enclosed garden. Fresh fruit and bread provided each day. Lovely bathroom. Next to fabulous ceramics gallery with 5% discount on purchases. Very helpful hosts who assisted with luggage transfer and restaurant bookings and arranged a cot for the baby.

This is an absolute work of art type of house. Every single detailed was carefully designed and curated and the result is a stunning house located right in the middle of Kurashiki. The bathroom is a highlight with a great shower and bath after day’s walk exploring the lovely surroundings.
