“Close to the beach”

Very close to the sandy Beach. Very clean. Very good bread and granola for breakfast. We ordered Dinner one Night (3000 yen per person) and it was very nice grilled Fish.

It is a great location on the kumano hiking trail or for a summer get away vacation. The place is well taken care of and the host is super friendly and helpful! I had both breakfast and dinner there- the food made with locally grown oranges by the owner, is amazing.

“Renovated traditional housing with a beautiful charme”

Our stay in Atashika was one of our highlights of our whole Japan trip. This was due to the beautiful scenery and the vibe of this charming old village, but also to a great extent due to the guesthouse. We enjoyed the atmosphere of this renovated traditional kind of housing. There were lots of details, such as art from different local artists, that add to a homey feeling. The breakfast with homemade bread and different kinds of bagels, homemade mandarin juice and a few other things was superb.

This place is a wonderful place to explore the beautiful area from. The accommodation is a lovely mix of modern and traditional, very peaceful, and the hosts are very welcoming and helpful. The homemade bagels were the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot of bagels from around the world! Also, he provides wonderful freshly squeezed mandarin juice from the hosts farm. I loved this place and would go back in a heartbeat!

Super relaxed place that shows the owners have put a lot of thought and love into every detail. We had a super friendly welcome and the homemade food provided for breakfast was lovely. We also pre-booked dinner and and a bento (as we were walking the Kumano Kodo) and were served wonderful local and seasonal food.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness by our hosts, who made us feel at home instantly. They prepared delicious homemade bread and fresh orange juice, made from their own oranges for us. The surroundings were equally stunning: a beautiful beach just a short walk away, breathtaking landscapes, and the charming little village of Atashika, which felt like a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a place that offers stunning nature, a peaceful atmosphere, and warm-hearted hosts who truly care about their guests, this is the perfect choice. We are already looking forward to coming back one day!

Lovely spacious comfortable accommodation, the owners are super friendly and helpful, and provided a delicious breakfast every morning. They cooked a delicious evening meal for us too! It’s a beautiful beach location, very quiet but with everything you need.

Splendid location in front of the beach, very welcoming host who treated us with home made mandarin juice and delicious bread. Nice village with white sand beach and crystal blue sea water teeming with fish.

Fabulous location across from the beach (which we had to ourselves), and for exploring parts of the Kii Peninsula (and Kumano Kodo). Hisashi was really welcoming and helpful and the room/apartment was really comfy. The 'in room' breakfast was great, complete with their own juice and homemade bread. And we had dinner one night, made by Hisashi, which was great. Would definitely recommend and will be back!

Wonderful place to stay. You must visit. So very quiet. Clean, comfortable, spacious. The young man who owns the cafe/accommodation was put a lot of work into his business. The evening meal he cooked us was fabulous and the craft beer made from mandarins from his families mandarin orchard was excellent. Definitely stay here again.

Very kind hosts, the whole experience nurture your soul, ecological, modern, well decorated apartment, view on the beautilful beach, amazing restaurants at Kumano city station recommanded by the hosts, and a very good orange juice direct from their farm. Atashika is a gem - a beautiful beach cove surrounded by mountains, peaceful, hardly a soul on the beach, especially at the end of the day. We spent a glorious day of relaxation here, and could easily have spent more. The guest house is a fantastic and comfortable space that has been cleverly designed, and the hosts are so kind and generous and eager to help. It is inspiring to see their entrepreneurial spirit and ecological mindset (the house was renovated with second hand materials, for example). The whole experience was magical and we wished we had more time. There is so much to discover in Wakayama, and this could be a good base. Hope we can come back someday.

Great service( hosts were kind to make me supper since there were no restaurant open, reservation made by the host for the following day was great), awesome food ( breakfast especially the juice) and ease of communication and very responsive host made my stay extra special!
