Loved the food, the friendliness of the staff, the quality of the room...so much so that we returned as our flight was cancelled! Lovely pool too!!

Location in heart of the rain forest and beautifully decorated reception area with antiques and collectibles. Has a bit of a quirky vibe but we loved this. Restaurant had fabulous food at reasonable prices with lots of birdlife around. Pool overlooking the rainforest is spectacular.

“Most amazing location in the rainforest”

Jansens was such a special place to stay. The views of the rainforest are absolutely breathtaking, especially from the pool which overlooks the jungle. It felt incredibly peaceful and unique. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with modern bathrooms that felt luxurious. Despite being surrounded by nature, we didn’t have any creepy crawlies in our room at all, which was a huge plus. The staff were also incredibly helpful and made our stay even better with how friendly and attentive they were.

The property is situated in a beautiful rainforest area in Sinharaja and the vista is really tranquil. Jansen's is very quaint and definitely has olde world charm. Staff were all lovely and helpful.

“Slow and silent forest bathing retreat house”

The room and services were good. I guess it was the best and luxury one among that area. Room: two floors with 4 mattresses allow a big family to bath in the forest. Spacious enough for multiple suitcases, with kettle, refrigerator, and kitchenware, and air-conditioner. The bed was large and comfortable with mosquito shelter. Balcony is attached but never used. Overall is clean, tidy, and bug-free. Sockets were only placed at one side of the bed, dining area and bathroom. Food: Staff were helpful to pack breakfast early for our safari. Dinner portion is fair enough. Bathroom: hair dryer, and towels were provided. Cleanliness was well maintained. Carpark: carpark below the property, staff can help with lifting. Service: helpful. Facility: clean and medium-sized swimming pool, swing and pavilion, few steps walk to the restaurants Location: 5mins drive to the Kudawa entrance of Sinharaja rainforest View: located at the top of the mountain forest, you can have a panorama view of the forest in the morning.

“Quirky, unique hotel in a beautiful location.”

It was a very peaceful location. Excellent value for money. It had a very homely feel and welcoming environment. We enjoyed drinking tea on the balcony listening to the sounds of nature.

The location is beautiful, and very convenient for getting to one of the Sinharaja Rainforest Reserve gates. The hotel staff drop guests off at the gates and collects later so that’s a very helpful service. Staff are friendly and very kind - I had an accident while I was staying and they even found me an aloe Vera leaf to treat my grades. Walking with a guide in the rainforest was a great experience and very peaceful. The hotel pool has a beautiful setting and was great for swimming in.

“A lovely retreat away from more crowded spots”

The views are just as great as the pictures show. A really nice retreat away from much busier spots elsewhere. Most of the other guests were very keen bird enthusiasts (lots of big cameras), but we really enjoyed the hiking tour in the forest as well as a bird safari we arranged through the hotel, even though we knew very little ahead of time. Plenty of nature also seemed to like the trees opposite our balcony! The restaurant was really nice and reasonably priced given how far much of the food must need to be delivered. It's not hotel service, so you need to ask at the office if you need things like more water, towels etc , but staff were always very helpful.

The location and area is breathtaking. Right in the jungle with an infinity pool facing the endless forest. The mansion is beautiful with a lot of details. Only the Wifi is struggling due to the lacation but it‘s great to disconnect. Food was good as well. When you visit Sinharaja - stay here

The property was beautiful and set in the most peaceful, amazing location. The rooms were spacious. The staff were helpful.

This is a resort in a place like no other. It’s big, but not crowded at all. Just being there was a pleasure. But we came for the national park, and that was amazing too. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. And I want to give a special thanks to the manager to help us find what we needed!

Everything was great except for the network coverage, which is understandable since it’s located at the top of a mountain. Fortunately, they provide Wi-Fi, which works fine. The food was good, the staff were friendly, and the room was clean and tidy. Nothing to complain about overall. I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re looking to escape your hometown for a relaxing vacation.
