The couple who run this guest house were incredible, kind and friendly. They showed us exceptional hospitality and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The guest house was beautifully renovated, and spotlessly clean. The view from our room was amazing, especially at sunset! Located inside the walls of the castle, down cobbled paths, it was a fascinating place to explore, with museums, the bazaar and great restaurants within a few minutes walk. Breakfast was delicious, home made and highly recommended (they accommodated our gluten free eaters too!). Our sat nav struggled to find the guest house, but Dini had given us his number, and after phoning him he came out to meet us, showed us where to park, and helped carry our suitcases for us.

House of Dollma has been rebuilt and refurbished to a very high standard by Selaudin Dollma (Dini) and his wife. There is a beautiful reception room and a wonderful courtyard to relax in. The room we stayed in was a good size with comfortable twin beds and a modern bathroom with great shower. Dini helped us to park our car in a safe place on the road and offered to carry our bags. Don't pay extortionate prices for the unofficial car parks - ring Dini and he will assist. The walk from the road to the property is along cobbled streets though the castle so pack light if possible. There is a shortcut at the back but you need to be sure footed as the path is rocky and steep. It was fun though going past the old church, the Tekke, the well and then emerging onto the main road into Kruje. The breakfast was delicious and substantial and lasted us until dinner time! We highly recommend staying at House of Dollma in Kruje Castle.

“Beautiful historic yet modern guesthouse”

Beautifully renovated property that has retained many traditional charms. Perfect location within the castle walls (there are several other guesthouses there as well). Air con worked well. Bathroom modern and clean. Very friendly owners. You cannot drive to the property. We parked at the back of Fabiani restaurant - ended up paying around 800 lek for 24 hours of parking. I'm not sure there is much cheaper in the area. Lots of nice restaurants in very close distance though

Beautiful hotel restored in a traditional way. Right in the heart of the castle grounds and old town. Run by a lovely couple who shared their story of the development and their family. Spacious and comfortable room near great restaurants.

The owner of the place, Dini, is very nice and kind. The place is located inside the castle complex. In order to get to the hotel, Dini very kindly helps with the parking lot. From the parking lot, you have to walk about 5 to 6 minutes, inside the castle complex, on natural stone paths (you cannot drive the suitcase, but have to lift it manually. Dini helps with one of the suitcases). The place is clean and well-maintained and underwent a massive renovation about a year ago. We got a small room but with an open view of the mountains, a breathtaking view, an experience. Dini's wife's breakfast is varied and very rich and not expensive, about 8 euros per diner. Very worth it!! At the end of the stay, you can only pay in cash at the moment, because the place is in the process of being opened and they don't have credit cards yet. You can pay in euros or local currency.

“Fabulous stay inside Kruja Castle”

The property was inside the castle walls but not so close to the attractions as to be disturbed by other tourists. It was very quiet with a pretty courtyard and central living area, plus the rooms were comfortable, super clean and included air conditioning and free bottled water. The hosts were fabulous - very friendly and helpful! We purchased the optional breakfast and it was the best we had throughout Albania, fresh, tasty and way more than we could eat!

Quiet location within castle walls, friendly proprietors . The building has recently been built and finished to a high standard and tastefully decorated. It has a comfy sitting area for guests and a pretty courtyard garden for all to enjoy.

Very friendly owners, clean room, great location in the city center and very nice breakfast. Owners arranged free parking so that was great. Definitely pack a small bag, you don't want to drag your luggage over the very uneven cobblestones.

“Relaxing, peaceful just lovely”

Beautiful, clean, quiet hotel hidden away in the castle grounds near the tekke. We had the family room, bathroom was spotless (with an amazing view) beds were very comfortable, air con was good but the room was cool so we didn’t need it much. Also a lovely little courtyard garden .

“Authentic experience inside historical Kruja Old Town”

Very helpful host who recently renovated this house. It stays within family for generations and you can really see his dedication to the place. Room was very cosy with a spectacular view, clean and well equipped. Close to old bazaar, museum and restaurants. Contact the host before for car arrangement.

Really unforgettable experience sleeping inside the area of old castle, history breathing on you while the house is renovated with all new facilities. Caring owners, tasty breakfast with best pancakes ever. Sunset view from the castle, strolling around castle area when majority of tourists are gone.
