Situated 500 metres from Lake Vänern, this property is less than 10 minutes’ drive from Kristinehamn’s town centre. It offers hostel accommodation close to nature and several sporting facilities. Both WiFi and parking are free. Guests at Krongården have access to a fully equipped kitchen, as well as a common TV lounge. During warm weather, guests can relax on the a furnished terrace. Rooms are simply furnished and have access to shared bathroom facilities. Some rooms feature a seating area. The location is perfect if you are travelling by car. Plenty of free parking in the area. The building was the barracs built for the soldiers of the Infantry regiment I2 when they were moved from Karlstad to the Artillery A9 location in Kristinehamn to form the Brigade of Värmland. And here lies part of the appeal to me, as I did my mandatory militsry service at A9. The interior still bears a close resemblance to when the buildings were used by the military. There is still essy accesd to the military training grounds with tracks for running on the woods behind the buildings. The archipelsgo area close by is worth a visit, if nothing else to wstch the statue made by Picasso. This is a hostel. Do not expect hotel standard snd en-suite bathrooms
