Absolutely unique accommodation, once in a lifetime experience. Staff are amazing , friendly and attentive. Grounds around the property are beautiful. We had the private bath in our room and it was amazing looking over the garden while bathing. We also enjoyed relaxing in the library.

Koyasan Shukubo Fudoin was truly one of the most special places we’ve ever experienced. Staying in a traditional shukubo temple lodging made the experience even more magical — tatami rooms, peaceful gardens, morning prayers with the monks… and without a doubt, one of the most delicious and beautifully presented dinners we had in Japan!

I won't describe everything; you must experience it for yourself. The service and food are exceptional, like in a Michelin Star restaurant. It's a place to relax. I must add a word about the beds: I slept like a cloud, they were very comfortable. The room is also very large.

We loved our stay in Fudo-in. Our room was beautiful and warm, we enjoyed the shojin ryori dinner a lot and we participated to the morning service. The public bath was also lovely. It was a special experience to stay overnight in a temple with so much history and traditions.
