“I would definitely come back and stay with Grape mama again! I loved the surroundings and her home.”

Grape mama was the best host I could have asked for! This woman is so attentive and carrying, I felt right at home! She was kind enough to pick me up from the station and even brought me to onsen (that was a 4-5 min drive) every night! I couldn't have been more grateful to her. She is very sweet and welcoming, and I just felt like I could rely on her no matter what. The breakfast was amazing every single day! She really loves what she does: having the b&b and having people around.

The hostess was incredibly sweet! She picked me up and dropped me off at the train station all the days I was there, as well as helping me figure out an itinerary, where to go and what to do. She helped me figure out what buses to take and gave great suggestions for what to do in the area. The breakfast she makes is incredible! She also made me tea several times a day and warmed up the bathtub when I needed a shower. I felt so taken care of and comfortable. Though the location is a little remote, this was exactly what I wanted. There were very few tourists, only a few locals who had travelled there to hike. The city is very cute and peaceful, and the scenery is amazing!! If the sky is clear you can even see mt. Fuji from the upper floor! It was such a great place to relax and unwind, as well as experience the lovely Japanese mountains. My only regret is that I didn’t spend another night or two😅

Amazing experience in traditional japanese house! Mama was amazing, cooked very good breakfast every morning ( mix occidental and japanese, homemade soup and jam!). The kitchen is available with fridge, cooker and microwave. Rooms and beds were really comfortable, so cute, great heater, nice bathroom with shower bathub! Mama-san provided towels, nightgowns and all the bathroom amenities (incl. Great hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner etc.) Wifi is on point too! Mama-san is very welcoming and her living room can be used to have dinner/chill there. Nice terrasse with view on Fuji-san! Mama came to pick us at the train station and bring us back when we needed to take trains to go to Arakurayama ( amazing park with views on Fuji-san). Was the best homestay we had in Japan! Arigatogozaimasu Mama-san ♡

The breakfast was excellent; you can tell it's a hearty homemade meal. The guest house is not with many rooms but its warm and cozy. The host is a kind lady who catered to all my schedules. The room was prepared with pajamas, a robe, mosquitos repellent, aroma oil and diffuser, and more.

“Pleasant, peaceful, and beautiful in every direction”

Grape Mama is a lovely, resilient person who has done so much to improve everything around her. She was so thoughtful and prepared delicious breakfasts every day that kept me very full and satisfied! Let me tell you some of the thoughtful things I experienced. Before my stay it was easy to communicate in English and ask for a ride to and from the station on my travel days - she even offered to drop me at other points of interest during my stay. When I wanted to wander around on foot and look for beautiful things to paint, she gave me a bag with a folding stool and bugspray to keep me comfortable. When I finished my bath one night (after a scorching day) she gave me sherbet from her freezer because she was worried I was too hot! Every day was pleasant and peaceful and beautiful in every direction. The view from Grape Room captures more of the greenery, and I spent hours soaking in the view from the Grape Room sofa or painting from the balcony. A separate Kitchen and shared Laundry were always available. The sink and toilet upstairs were convenient. The open closet had room for hanging clothes, and a luggage rack helped with organization. The area is very quiet with good air and breathtaking summer scenery. I can't recommend this B&B enough! Even if you are a foreigner and only speak English (or terrible beginner Japanese), you can have a lovely relaxing time in the countryside at Grape Mama's house.
