Staff very friendly. Steven and Patience, the camp managers made our stay very pleasant. The food was excellent. Bush drives were excellent. Simon our field guide made our trips very memorable

“Incredible stay, halal food on request”

Incredible stay. I went for all inclusive which included 2 game drives per day and 3 meals. The game drives were excellent, and the meals were faultless. I had requested halal food before arriving and they provided halal meat specifically for me.

Camp Shawu is all about the dam view from the lodge and decks in front of the rooms, which could never disappoint. Staff were very helpful and friendly, even calling to inform us we had left items in the lounge after we had checked out - an unlabeled item, so amazing they identified us as the owners Game drives were excellent

The view to the drinking hole was amazing, and what peace and privacy! You could just sit in the porch all day watching animals such as lions, elephants, buffalo and rhinos come to drink (not forgetting a pod of hippos and crocodiles in the pond). The staff was also very friendly and made us feel welcome, even though it seemed that we were the only guests at Camp Shawu at the time. Food was also very good, and room decorations added a nice touch.

An older camp but definitely made up for it with location, animal sightings, comfort, great food and overall great experience. Would highly recommend, especially if tight on time and want to get to the lodge without driving too long once inside Kruger Park.

Camp Shawu is my favorite destination in Kruger, situated right by the dam, you can see lots of animals in between game drives. Accommodation is spacious with a beautiful bed. Great breakfast. We had Sifiso as our ranger and he is the greatest guy to have. He went the extra mile to check for Leopard and we were rewarded with the most amazing sighting. Elephant seems to pass the units between 12 and 1pm and 8/9pm… what a sight…

We saw lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, buffalos, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, giraffes, impala, wildebeest, antelope, hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, kudus, porcupines, guinea pigs, guinea fowls, jackels, civet, monkeys, baboons and many bird species including eagles and vultures. Simon's spotting skills are excellent, he even spotted animals in the dark. The staff at the lodge are extremely friendly and welcoming. The chef is awesome, the food was delicious and they catered to some of our very difficult dietary requirements. Thank you Shishangeni for an amazing 2 night stay!

“Beautiful settings and friendly dedicated staff”

Well done Shishangeni team! We had a wonderful stay. The gravel road enroute to the lodge is very good . The scenery is beautiful and one can enjoy plenty of wildlife encounters. Our game drives with a very professional ranger were awesome too as he really strives to deliver the best experience to his guests.

The view from the deck and from the rooms is very beautiful. Lots of animals surround the camp. The rooms are very nice equipped and clean. The staff is phenomenal and very friendly. Our chef, Regina, cooked super tasty. The game drives were always great and we've seen more animals than we've expected. We enjoyed our stay a lot and will definitely come back.
