A beautiful property with lovely views across the vineyards. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our dinner under the vines overlooking the view was delicious.

“Beautiful room and view, but disappointing experience”
The breakfast, the room and the view. The property itself has a lot of potential: the location is beautiful, the triple room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and breakfast was nice (delicious tomatoes among other things), prepared by the older owner who was also smiley and friendly. However, apart from her, overall it felt that there was little effort to make guests feel welcome, engage with them, or provide the experience that was advertised on the website.

Beautiful family run hotel. Very family friendly. Lovely breakfast with a great continental style breakfast spread and eggs cooked to order. We had food both nights. The first night we had cold meat platter with tomatoes fresh from garden. Delicious. The second we had the 4 course dinner with wine pairings. They also cooked a special dinner for a fussy eater. The kids loved the small pool that they had to themselves alot. We loved the countryside and the wine. The owners were very helpful with helping us book a wine tour and taxi. We were all very lonely to leave.

“Wonderful place to stay”
This place is amazing! The views are so nice, the pool is perfect. The staff was kind, we could hang out at the pool before check in and after check out and they would even serve us their great wines there. On wednesday a 4 course menu was served on the beautiful terrace and Tamara advised on wine pairing which was so good. They helped us with everything we needed like tips on what to do in the area and calling a taxi. They even arranged a birthday breakfast for my friend. Would reccommend 10/10, and hope to come back here.

“Exceptional stay in Slovenian wine region.”
Location is absolutely amazing - when you wake up with a view of sun shining over the vineyards spreading in the distance. Staff are just exceptional. You feel really welcome there and we enjoyed every moment of it. Highly recommend.

“Unbeatable location with exceptional views, but family not as helpful as other reviews suggest.”
The property is in a stunning location. Our room overlooked the vineyards and surrounding hill villages, providing an exceptional view that we never tired of. The shared spaces (pool, terrace and restaurant) were pretty and offered the same wonderful views. We enjoyed a wonderful 5 course dinner one evening, though we had no idea what would be served or how much it would cost.

It was a very comfortable stay at Hiša Štekar. The stuff was very nice and they prepared a delicious breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable.
