Mama Soi, her daughter Dau and the rest of the staff are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. The do their utmost to make sure all guests are happy. The place has an amazing location. I recommend renting a bicycle. The island is really lovely to bike around.

Great view from the bungalow, comfortable and clean. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. It's about a 30 mins walk to the other beach on the island but it's a pleasant walk.

“Simple tropical island life & friendly owners”

Idyllic simple island life on a small quiet bay. Individual bungalows are perched on a hillside, so each has a seaview & a hammock on the balcony. With amazing sunsets from the restaurant, Mama Soi & her daughter Dao cook up a delicious feast in the kitchen with an extensive menu of Thai dishes, a big range of vegetarian options & strangely a page of German specialities (catering to the many long-staying regulars who return annually). The unusual coloured beach is beautiful to observe but not really conducive to sunbathing, although the shallow bay is good for paddling. You can easily walk thro the forest to neighbouring bays or rent a motorbike or bicycle here as it’s worthwhile exploring the little island.

Mamas was just what I had been looking for to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal civilization. It's excellent if you just want to live a simple way of life for a while in relative isolation. The owner, Soi, is a lovely lady and an excellent host. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Just fantastic, I'll be going back for sure.

Mamas had an extensive menu of both Western and Thai food. Everything is freshly made! You have a log book for your room that you order food/drinks, where you can settle up the bill for your tab once you check out. WiFi is incredibly patchy, but works best in the restaurant. We found that phone signal is pretty much nonexistent but we liked being able to switch off and immerse ourselves in nothingness. Things are run off solar here, so be mindful of electricity sometimes cutting out. We had no issues with this, however. The family are SUPER friendly here- very warm and accommodating. Poppy the doggo will look her cutest at you for some food but resist the urge! Haha.

“The perfect getaway in Koh Chang's most beautiful beach”

What a place! The gorgeous beach, the views and the incredible food at the restaurant, the incredible people, the dogs! The nature all around and the quiet, although people are lively and have a joyful energy that doesn't get boring. The bed was very big and the room spacious with a great balcony. Luckily the WiFi from the restaurant could reach there, so I could work. Love the fact that everything is solar-powered. Would love to come back again!

I had such a lovely room overlooking the beach,sea and rocks. Everything was clean and comfortable. Gorgeous.

Very lovely stuff Super view Restaurant very nice!

Mamas bungalows are located in a beautiful small bay with only wild rainforest to one wide. From our balcony we spotted monkeys and lots of birds. Mama and her staff were all very friendly and helped us with everything we needed. In general there was a "home away from home" atmosphere and I understand why many of the other guests had come back for the last many years, ways staying at least a month. You can choose to be private and do your own thing, but if you fancy a chat, the other guests and Mama are there for that! Koh chang is a special island that I would come back to, and even though many of the other guesthouses also looked nice, mamas is special because of the friendly and home-like vibe.
