“Beautiful guesthouse, beautiful people !”

Beautiful guesthouse in the countryside and super easily reachable by bus. The owner is really cool, passionate about many things, and so friendly! We spent 3 days there but could easily have stayed much longer. We felt so lucky to have discovered this place, as well as the amazing Shimoda and its surroundings! Thanks so much for everything!

The location is nice, just 10 minutes walk from Rendaiji station. Also, you can get a direct bus from Shimoda station to the exact location of the place from morning till 19.10 (the bus stop called Nakanose is just 1 minute walk from the dorm). Also, the owners were very friendly and nice people.

A very homely and friendly guesthouse with a lovely garden overlooking the river. The host Makoto was welcoming, helpful and gave some great local recommendations. Easy transport links, with a bus stop right outside and a train station less than 10 min walk away. Definitely recommend!

The host was incredibly welcoming and made the whole experience feel like visiting old friends rather than just a place to sleep. Their local recommendations were spot-on - especially the waterfall, authentic restaurant, and onsen nearby. The bicycle they lent me was perfect for getting around. The outdoor bathing area was a highlight - you can shower and soak while looking up at the stars. There's also a creek you can climb down to (careful though), a hammock for lounging, and a steam sauna (extra charge but worth it). Evenings had ukulele music and good conversations with that comfortable vibe you get when staying with people who genuinely enjoy hosting. Your experience will differ!!

“Wish I stayed longer”

It was such a nice and relaxing place to be. I stayed there during tsunami warning so I spent almost my whole two days there. The Onsen near the guesthouse is marvellous, and we did a sauna session at one evening as well. We've had dinner together and on the first evening he offered us sashimi, because he's been out fishing and caught a nice one. Loved to practise my japanese skills - thank you for everything!

It is very cozy and the owner is very kind and friendly !! We had an amazing time, especially with the bicycles, going to beaches, the port etc… :) We had an amazing time and would really recommend Shimoda and this guest house to anyone !!

The managers of the guesthouse were fantastic. There aren't any restaurants around the place without going near the principal place of Shimoda, but they proposed dinner. The night I was there we ate the fish that the man of the couple had fished three days ago, and it was delicious. I recommend this guesthouse.

Stayed for a couple of days and nights. The room my partner and I stayed in was a good size for the two of us, also had a sink just outside of the room to brush our teeth, which was great and a window to look out at the mountains. Bus stop right outside for easy transport to and from the shops. 10 min walk to the train station as well. Best part of the whole stay was the two incredible hosts. Even with the slight language barrier, they made us feel at home, helped if we needed it, made sure we were warm when eating, recommended spots to explore, and even drove us downtown. Can't thank them enough! I'd stay again and recommend them to anyone looking for a place in the area.
