“Great mountain retreat with a loverly SPA and close up mountain views.”
Usual great standard Mercure hotel with inside and outside spa. Nice size rooms with usual facilities. Located in the mountains and car/taxi needed to get anywhere. Parking on site is easy and there is lots of it. Beautiful setting for Hotel with mountain stream running by property. Self service laundry on site. Usual Mercure high levels of hospitality with drinks and nibbles from 3pm till 9.

Free happy hour every night until 6pm, free beer at dinner and free supper drinks after 9pm seems to be a hallmark of this chain. This one had a waxing space and ski drying room.

Onset was really lovely, outside bath was beautiful in the snow at night! English speaking staff were really great. Loved the drinks in afternoon and cocktails at 9pm.The drying room for snow gear was great.

“Wonderful food, onsen and location”
Best hotel in our entire trip. The resort is beautiful and comfortable. With unlimited booze during evening social and night cap. The breakfast buffet was also excellent. The location is right opposite the start of the Goshikinuma trail and the visitor center. So it’s very convenient for exploring the national park. We also drove to Jododaira about an hour to hike Mt Azuma Kofuji.

“Love the onsen and the lounge, but the cleaning system was not organized.”
I loved the onsen and also the lounge where you can drink coffee, tea, beer, wine, etc and eat some cookies and traditional things. I also like the ubication of the hotel, it was close to the visitor center where you can start a very easy trekking to sightseeing different ponds.

“Great value for money all inclusive hotel in ideal location next to Goshikinuma trail”
Very good value for money- meals all included and rooms were comfortable. Drinks available from 245pm prior to check in, up till dinner, and then again in the evening. Very wide selection of food at both dinner and breakfast; Japanese and non-Japanese options available. Quality of the food was very good given the price Staff very friendly and helpful. Outdoor bath (rotemburo) very pleasant, with maple and other trees overhanging the water. When we visited in August there were mostly Japanese families staying at the hotel, all enjoying a summer break together; it was a nice atmosphere. Hotel is right near the entrance to the Goshikinuma walk and also has a bus stop with buses running occasionally to Urabandai Eki (the other end of the Goshikunuma trail).
