Overview
The Rainhof Scheune is a historic farmyard hotel in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, 12 km from Freiburg. It offers theme rooms with traditional wooden furniture, modern spa area and free internet. Guests can enjoy a certified restaurant on site, and a local market selling regional produce in the surrounding area. The hotel and restaurant date back from 1790. All rooms feature satellite TV and a private bathroom. A rich breakfast buffet and lunch menu are served daily. There are many walking and cycling routes here in the beautiful Dreisam Valley. A Finnish sauna, steam room are all available in Rainhof Scheune's spa. Panoramic views of the Black Forest can be enjoyed in in the relaxation room, which also has a cosy fireplace. The Rainhof is a 5-minute walk from Himmelreich Train Station. This is 18 minutes by train from Freiburg Main Station.

“Great stay, you feel like a guest!”
A warm & professional welcome and good instruction. Easy to reach the rooms & wellness area by elevator. Nice and fresh and well designed rooms. Very good breakfast and kitchen has been opened all day. Close to nature to take a walk or to visit Alpakas or horse riding stable. Only 7 Min. walk to nearby tram station (fees free for Rainhof visitors), easy go to Kirchzarten & Freiburg.

“Reasonable overnight stop”
In a pleasant location. Our room was large with a good bathroom and comfortable bed. The food at the restaurant was good although the menu was limited. Pet friendly with good parking.

It was a really comfortable hotel. Everyone was friendly, the room was clean and well-organized. The bed was comfortable and it was very close to the train station. The breakfast was also very good.

“Great small hotel - service with a smile.”
We were accommodated in 'Landhaus' which is a very spacious room that was well designed with a huge comfortable bed and large en-suite bathroom. Although we didn't have breakfast, we did have our evening meals in the restaurant. The meals were excellent and reasonably priced. As part of the tourist tax we were given tickets for free travel on the local trains and busses. We caught the train from the local station (5 to 10 min walk) into Freiburg for the day - quick, easy and free! There is a honesty fridge in the common area with wine and soft drinks, a great idea. We had a great two night stay and would not hesitate in coming back!

“Excellent location for hiking and visiting Freiburg but not the best hotel in the area”
Breakfast with good assortment of different things. Nice bread, yoghurt and traditional german style breakfast. Good coffee made by a barista. The trainstation is very closeby to take the commute to Freiburg for free.
