Overview
This family-run, 3-star hotel in the village of Schambach lies in the heart of the Altmühltal Nature Park. It features a bathing pond and free use of wellness facilities. “Great stopover”
This was a great place for us to stay en route to the Czech Republic. Very comfy, restaurant was good. A number of functional 22kW EV chargers.

“Overall? - Faultless! A second visit? - definite no brainer, YES!”
I hadnt realised how 'off the map' it was so when I arrived, I wasnt quite sure where to go, but once I had that figured, all was well. Excellent location, so quiet & peaceful, ample car parking, good signage to reception, very welcoming hostess who although didnt speak much English, went to lengths to assist and put me at ease (my apologies for not being able to speak German!). Property was excellently maintained, clean, tidy, well laid out, facilities were excellent, ample sized bedroom with large wardrobes, workstation and easy chair, balcony with fantastic outlook (wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy it!) and well proportioned ensuite (sparkling clean). Outside elevated patio off the main dining room, garden areas with outside pool (if you're brave in autumn) and a wellness facility with sauna etc (didnt try this time but looked very nice). Food was superb and presented very nicely. Buffet breakfast selection was extensive and very tasty - egg & bacon done perfectly! Dining areas were well set out and tables had ample space around them. The hostess and her staff were very pleasant people, suitable attentive but not intrusive.
