We spent 2 months in Thailand this season, and I can say that The Retreat was our best choice. Clean resort in a quiet location, with spacious rooms, regularly cleaned. Courtyard with a small pool and jacuzzi, always clean. Great breakfast, free drinking water, other drinks at reasonable prices. The owner was helpful and knew how to organize everything according to your ideas. Bicycles were available for free - since there was not much traffic in the area, you could safely get to one of the most beautiful beaches in Khao Lak in a few minutes. There are several good restaurants in the area and beautiful Buddhist temple, where ceremonies are held regularly. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

A truly exceptional stay. The property is beautifully set in the heart of nature, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere-you wake up to the sound of birds and complete calm. Every morning started with a delicious, high-quality breakfast, and the entire place was spotless and impeccably maintained. The location is ideal if you’re looking for tranquility. Khuk Khak Beach is less than 10 minutes away by bike, and we loved using the free bikes provided by the property to get there. We also visited Pak Weep Beach (around a 12-minute drive), which was equally beautiful. One of the highlights was biking about 15 minutes to feed the elephants-such a special experience. We ate almost every day at a lovely local restaurant called BOHO Restaurant, just 5 minutes away by bike-delicious food, a great atmosphere, and we were happy to support a small local business. We also enjoyed daily massages on the beach at Khuk Khak with a wonderful lady called Vivi-highly recommended. We rented a car for a few days and visited Phuket, but after experiencing the crowds, we were more than happy to return to the calm and beauty of Khao Lak. What really made our stay stand out was the staff—genuinely warm, kind, and always ready to help with anything. We felt very well looked after and wouldn’t hesitate to return. If you’re looking for peace, nature, and a slower pace of life, this place is absolutely perfect.

Beautiful location with a 10 min cycle to the beach with the added bonus of being able to use their cycles. The beaches are beautiful, clean and not too busy. Plenty of amenities including surfing board hire and classes . The host and staff were extremely helpful arranging transport, when required. The hotel is stunning , in a peaceful greenery setting. Breakfast was excellent with something different everyday. There are restaurants within walking distance. The hotel will arrange taxis to neighbouring town and market.

The owners and staff are very hospitable, friendly and go out their way to help offering loads of advice on places to eat and local amenities. The accommodation is very comfortable, clean and in a lovely quiet location. Rooms have everything you need. Small swimming pool, beach towels provided. Free bikes to get about to go to the beach nearby. Plenty of taxi s about if you want to venture further.

We loved our stay here, they have thought of everything - a lovely quiet home away from home but with all the luxuries. The nearby beach was lovely and easy to get to by bicycle or scooter. The manager and all staff were so friendly and helpful, arranging scooter hire and transport to the airport. The breakfast was my favorite out of all the hotels (9) we stayed in!

Lovely peaceful location , the owner made us feel like family and was really friendly and helpful. Arranged our airport transfer . The rooms are clean , well maintained . A mattress topper is available as we found the beds a bit firm for us but this was not a deal breaker. Excellent breakfast . The pool is lovely to chill off in , perfect after a day out . Just 50yrds down the road is a fab little bar that serves food plus ur only 10 minutes walk to Pam’s restaurant. We will be back , you have built a perfect Retreat .

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely accommodation in Khao Lak. With only 12 rooms, the atmosphere is very personal and peaceful. ​What we loved: ​The Team: The owner and the entire crew are incredibly kind and attentive. They go above and beyond to fulfill every guest's wish and offer great recommendations. ​The Setting: The resort is a beautiful, quiet oasis. It is a bit secluded ("off the beaten track"), but that is exactly what makes it so relaxing. ​Amenities: They provide bicycles for guests to use, which is a great way to explore the surrounding area. ​Pool & Breakfast: The pool is small but very nice and well-maintained. The breakfast was also satisfying and provided a good start to the day. ​Conclusion: If you are looking for a small, charming, and peaceful place with a personal touch, this is the perfect choice. We felt very well looked after!

Very peaceful, jungle setting, clean and tidy, aircon works great, super friendly respectful and helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast topped up as you go, fresh cooked omelette or scrambled eggs included. Pool is nice and cool and clean, free use of comfy beach bikes(10mins easy ride to beautiful quiet beach), modern decent scooter hire 300tb/day! Helmets included. Great bakery and supermarkets close by, big rooms that have large balcony/patios too with drying racks. Owner is fantastic, speaks decent english.

“A lovely place to stay and relax.”

The Retreat felt like a retreat. It felt secluded and yet when you stepped outside you were a 5 minute bike ride from the beach. The room was spacious and was cleaned every day. Free water and good breakfast and the staff were very friendly. I would recommend staying here.

“This is a lovely resort”

Lovely small resort surrounded by greenery. Really quiet. Very nice owner. Comfy rooms. We borrowed the pedal bikes to go out to dinner most nights. Pam's is a great restaurant about 5min ride/10min walk away. You do need a moped to explore the area, we hired one from the owner and used it every day. We extended our stay here to a full week because we liked it so much. Breakfast was nice, plenty of fresh fruit, rye and wholemeal bread available, nice omelettes etc.
