“Chilled vibes, artistic environment, super friendly host and good food”

A&Y Wild Camp is a unique place to stay in Keta. We booked it for one night and stayed for more, because we fell in love with the chilled artistic vibe and the atmosphere. Yao is such a calm, caring, always optimistic host and his cooking skills are just amazing. We felt very blessed to enjoy our slow mornings and had even one social dinner at the lounge area. The whole camping site is creatively but thoughtfully decorated and you find cheerful details along your stay. It’s one of those places where you might book it as an accommodation but find a full experience on its own. Thank you, Yao!

“More than we expected”

We stayed at A&Y Wild Camp Ghana for two nights and only wish we had stayed longer. From the moment we arrived, Antonella and Yaw made us feel incredibly welcome. They are warm, courteous, and fascinating hosts—our kind of people—which is why we already can’t wait to come back. The camp itself offers a perfect blend of rustic charm and authenticity. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax and immerse yourself in the beauty of the surroundings. Yaw’s cooking was simple, homely and absolutely delicious, and the chilled atmosphere made us feel completely at home. Antonella and Yaw went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Yaw organised a fantastic boat trip for us and arranged our transfer back to the airport. We felt completely safe exploring the local area, strolling through Keta town, and enjoying the beautiful nearby beach. If you’re looking for a real experience that combines rustic charm, authenticity, and incredible hospitality, this is the place to be. We truly hope to be able to return the hospitality at some point and will definitely be back for a longer stay next time!

“Peace, Beach, Lovely.”

It was a hut on the beach - so lovely to go to sleep to sound of waves. Owner of site incredibly friendly and very engaging. Food options were reasonably priced and very tasty - spaghetti & soya in sauce my evening meal. I liked the colourful painting of the huts around the main compound where I ate - got that Rasta vibe. Just a relaxing place to be - uncrowded, peaceful and to be recommended

It has been a nice and quite place directly at the beach. I did not expect a wellness place and the camp was not it, I mean this in the best way. It was such a cute place. The owner really cares for you and cooks for you. Everything he cooks is made freshly and tastes really good. It was great place to flee the business of Accra.

The proprietor Mr. Yaoo really understands customer service meticulously cleaning all areas and in his general deportment - and offerings of food (excellent Italian foods chef)and drink if you like it. He is truly a cross between Jeeves the butler and a hint of the soup Nazi - and he really does work hard to give you a great experience. Its rare in Ghana that you will experience this attention to detail.

We felt very comfortable and safe here. The camp is beautifully constructed and artfully designed in an African style. There are lots of flowers and plants that make for a cozy atmosphere. The huts in which you spend the night are simple, but comfortable. They have a fan at the ceiling and insect-proof windows. The beds are big and feature mosquito nets. There's a seperate hut with shared bathrooms which were very clean. Additionally, there's a common hut or restaurant hut in which you can order meals and drinks (including actually good bottles of wine). The food is like the whole camp: Simple, but beautifully prepared with a combination of great skill and love. It was very tasty and we enjoyed eating here a lot. The beach is a 2 minute walk away from the camp. On the way, after exiting the surrounding walls of the camp, you pass through the neighbouring village. The host escorted us to the beach for the first time, but after that we felt completely comfortable making the way on our own. The locals were friendly and either greeted us politely from afar or simply left us alone. At the beach, there's a hut belonging to the camp where you can sit in the shade and watch the ocean and the fishermen. We felt comfortable exploring the shore landscape on our own and going for walks along the beach. If you like, the host will bring drinks for you to the beach hut which also has its own restroom. Overall, we had a great time at A&Y Wild Camp and would 100% stay there again. When planning your journey, you should not forget that A&Y is a small family-owned wild camp far out in the countryside and not a large commercial hotel in the city. However, the artful design of the camp and its interiors, the incredibly beautiful beach landscape and ocean, the good food and good wine and the friendly care with which our host welcomed us certainly provided for a truly unforgettable travel experience that we will keep in fond memory.
