Overview
Overlooking the Kemijoki River, Hotel Pohjanranta is 20 minutes’ drive from Kemi. Facilities include an on-site winery and gift shop that sells their own berry wine. Guests have free spa and pool access and free in-room WiFi. A flat-screen TV, a work desk and a bathroom with shower are standard in all of Pohjanranta’s rooms. Some feature a private, well-equipped kitchenette. All rooms have views of the river or the surrounding fields. Facilities include a summertime bar, fireplace lounge and common room with a kitchenette. Area activities include fishing in the river and Kallinkangas Ski Resort, just 3 km from the hotel. Staff can help organise guided hiking trips, downhill skiing lessons and other activities.

Old hotel, but in a good location near the city and not far from Rovaniemi. Clean but small rooms, the pool was perfectly clean, the breakfast sufficient, the price very good!

Our room was basic but nice and clean and comfortable. We had 3 rooms booked and it was nice for our group to meet up in a communal lounge to play some card games that we had with us in the evening. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna were lovely and we had a nice swim and water aerobics session from the screen. The breakfast was great. The heating post for the car was a great bonus as we were there during very cold weather. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

“Old style accommodation with a lot of history”
Old building with a lot of history, you can find old photographs in the corridors. Located by the lake, with a small swimming platform. Big outdoor area with mini golf, swings, and horses stables nearby. With a curious little church made of wooden tiles. Plenty of parking space. It may seem a bit shabby and old, but the decoration, the furniture, the doors, the structure are from the old times and provide a lot of old-style character. To my surprise, good variety of breakfast.

“A fulfilling and comprehensive stay, 9.5/10 stars!”
Pool(my kids enjoyed there many times), great variety of breakfast, nature, beautiful scenery, it was about 1 hour to Santa village in north, staffs were very kind and mindful. We came from Stockholm. I didn't expect 30 degrees in the north. They lent me a fan and I was able to survive. The access to the surrounding was good, and the back of the hotel was directly on the Kemi River, vast, quiet and beautiful. Even just spending a day on a bench looking at the river will recharge my energy. When I got to the room, there was a problem with the heating radiator and the room was very hot, so I inquired at the front desk and they dealt with it immediately and prepared an alternative room for us, which I thought was very considerate.

“I didn't feel safety and secured, TV didn't work and breakfast was poor or actually wasn't there.”
Security is not enough. Hotel is unmanned, no people. Terrible to leave your personal information when the security of rooms and hotel is not proper. The room key and envelope is available to anybody and when you leave the key anybody can take it ? This type of process should not be possible in Finland. The TV in the room was not installed, no channels available and installation didn't work to install the channels. We lost important programs. Breakfast was introduced as from 8-12. However it was a small paper basket in refridgerator put there early, day or more before. It was no breakfast as introduced but only sthg in paper bag ? Advertisement should be correct and not to lie and exaccorate. I will never come back but I hope this same experience would never happen to next customers. This place should be closed and at least booking. com should not have this on their list. I will be questioning any new reservation from booking.com because of loosening thrust to this place.
