The monastery collocated with the brewery. Fr Patzelt in the check in reception and the waiter Filip in the Biergarten were outstanding people who were the best representatives of the Kloster/Abtei

the area is beatiful, one of the best i've seen in germany. the monestary is impressive, the rooms are cool, the view was awesome and the facilities in general great. i did not expect it but i'm planning to visit this area again :)

So, no point in talking about the lovely location etc...it's in all the other reviews. 😊The room was comfortable, minimalist, spotlessly clean and, as expected, no TV or kettle to make a cup of tea. I really appreciated the mattress which was particularly comfortable AND wonderful to have a real feather pillow that I could actually model to accommodate my desire to not wake up with a stiff neck because pillows are ALWAYS too high. 😀😀😀. Great choice of food at breakfast even though it was Friday.

“Stunning location”

Staying here was a delight. It is an old monastery which has been renovated and opened to the public. The room facilities are modern, but simple in design in keeping with a monastic atmosphere. The breakfast was very good.The view over the Danube is spectacular and the place exudes a sense of charm and tranquility. There is also a large restaurant within the complex so it was easy to get lunch and early dinner (until 7pm, if memory serves me well?). If you are cycling along the Danube, this is a delightful place to stay before getting the ferry through the narrow gorges.

Beautiful setting, super clean and comfortable. Plentiful continental breakfast with lovely fresh bread. Friendly staff. We will be back.

The location by the river and near the ferry to Kelheim. There was a pleasant cafeteria area with a fridge to buy drinks - including wine and beer.

Wonderful location. Very clean room with focus on the necessary essentials - no TV, but well working internet. Very friendly staff. Kloster and garden offer good opportunity for talks and reflection. Self-serviced cafeteria offers drinks and small snacks after office hours. Klosterschänke is superb. The book with St. Benedict's rules (one copy per room) is worth reading.

“Wonderful, peaceful, friendly place”

Wonderful, peaceful, friendly sanctuary. Beautiful location on the bank of the river. Rooms are lovely and very clean. The restoration of the building is of very high quality with great attention to detail. Wifi is super fast. There are beautiful walks around the area, all the way to the neighbouring town Kelheim. There is even a ferryman who takes you to the other side of the river for 2 euros! Resturant has excellent food and is well priced in my opinion. There is a brewery in the monastery and the Barock Dunkel beer is particularly delicious. When coming back from my walk, a monk stopped and helped us with directions, very friendly and so nice. I originally booked two nights but ended up staying for three.

Almost everything. The location is great, and very peaceful in the evening once the day visitors have left. Very quiet overnight. If you are lucky you might hear the organ if you visit the Chapel. Also it is only 400m from the ferry that goes through the Donaudurchbruch to Kelheim, so if you are cycling or walking you can easily take the first boat and leave before the crowds arrive.
