It’s a lovely house with lots of charme and the staff couldn’t be nicer. In the garden there’s a spectacles framemaker who, sometimes in the evening, plays his guitar. And the breakfasts are great!

My second time staying, the staff is always wonderful, warm, and amazing. The scene downstairs in the cafe and bar is cozy and warm. The outside area is quaint.

Super friendly and helpful staff! Super cool old japanese building! Incredible vibe for travelers to hang out, staff will try thier best to start conversation and also introduce japanese board/card game to us. Had a wonderful time staying there!

I loved my stay at Chabudai. It was exactly as cozy and welcoming as I hoped it would be. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and cozy with enough privacy to feel comfortable. I like having people around me in unfamiliar places as it helps me relax.

The staff were excellent. Very cute 110 year old guesthouse. The communal kitchen area and the cafe / bar at the front enabled interactions between guests. I loved the league of nations sitting around the kitchen table discussing the answers to life, the universe and everything. I was there for an annual Edo Festival Weekend and 2 members of one of the floats were in the cafe / bar selling neck ties (Chabudai felt like part of the community). Sweet potato everything: COEDO Beer, sweet potato-flavored chips with various sauces, dried sweet potato slices, imosenbei (sweet potato crackers), sweet potato ice cream, and drinks like sweet potato cider, ets.. Even fortunes at the temples (Omikuji).

Staff was very friendly, place is nice and comfortable enough. Cafe, bar, and lounge is nice.

A bit away from main street, but easy to reach by walk, quite at night and the host is super friendly!

“Outstanding guesthouse in traditional-style building.”

This guesthouse has a warm, welcoming vibe and is among my favourite accommodations in Japan. The old traditional building, with the cafe in the front and the garden at the back provide a memorable stay in Kawagoe. The staff is very friendly and I had a great time socialising with other guests. It is clean, comfortable and relaxing.

Honestly, the best accommodation in Japan so far. Extra clean, incredible atmosphere, beautiful aesthetic..but most importantly the vibe and staff is out of this world. If ever in Kawagoe, I'll be back!

Feeling like HOME ❤️ Location is great close to everything. The host is amazing. The night I stayed, they had a sushi night, and it was delicious. Highly recommended. The place is super clean.
