Our host Efi was the most beautiful lady and was like our mum during our stay in Santorini. She went above and beyond for us and we were super grateful for her love. We looked forward to her breakfast every morning! Alex was also available if we needed anything and was very helpful! As the accomodation is in a village, there is parking only a few minutes away and Fira being only 20-30 mins walk. We would happily stay here again if we return to Santorini. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend 1812 Cave Hotel. The owner is incredibly kind, the breakfast is very rich and delicious, and the bed and pillows are perfectly comfortable — not too soft or too firm. These were the best two nights of sleep I had during my 14 days in Greece.

Lovely place to stay and excellent, friendly host who went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay. They gave great recommendations for restaurants, and activities etc. The breakfast was always delicious and catered very well for allergies. Location is central to Karterados and a quick walk to the centre of the town. Also central location on the island, which was very useful.

Efi and Alex are amazing hosts! We were in Santorini for a wedding and Efi checked up on us while getting ready to see if we needed help with anything. The freshly cooked breakfast was such a welcoming touch. Our room was very spacious, our bathroom was very clean, the neighbourhood was really cute.Highly recommend this place!

The room property was fantastic, very clean and very comfortable. It has a great, quiet location, but is close to Thira at only a 15 minute walk to the caldera.

This was a unique and beautiful place to stay. Our host, Efi, and her son, Alex, could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was superb. Nice and quiet location, close to a lovely local restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it.

The property was stunning and very comfortable, and the owners were friendly and more than happy to help; they did everything they could do to help. The breakfast was delicious. The location was great and an easy walk from Fira. Would definitely recommend and we are planning our next visit.

From the moment we arrived Efi and Alex made us feel very welcome and served us a glass off their white wine in arrival Pillows wee great bed a little hard for liking but otherwise good and the fruit platter and home bits and pieces were a treat Alex was very helpful from the word go and booked numerous things for us without hesitation

The staff is very excellent . I enjoyed my cave stay. Just make sure you ask the accommodation for transfer. I used taxi from the Ferry port and it dropped me off far from the accommodation so don’t do that to yourself. Request for transport and everything will be seamless. I was also not using uber but transport suggested by the accommodation and it worked out cheaper for me.

Quiet, private location and beautiful « cave » apartment inside, as well as lovely shared courtyard where a delicious breakfast was served, and we could sit out with a glass of wine in the evening. We didn’t have a car, so being able to walk to some local shops and restaurants within a few minutes was great, as well as being able to walk to Fira in about half an hour. We also used the local buses which stop about a 5 min walk away. What really made the place exceptional was the hospitality -the hosts went out of their way to be helpful and could not have been more welcoming. Alex even offered us a free upgrade, which was much appreciated!

Alex and Effie gave us a very warm welcome to their lovely peaceful haven. They very helpfully booked us taxis and recommendations. Great location...25 min walk into central Fira in a quiet, authentic characterful neighbourhood. Breakfast was fantastic. Caves apartment was clean and comfortable.

Stayed here for a few days while in Santorini, Alex & his mum were so lovely and kind, treated us like family, breakfast was delicious and the room was lovely and clean

Alex and his mother are truly wonderful people—warm, welcoming, and immediately friendly. Breakfast was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious: fresh bread, jam, eggs, croissants, yogurt, juice, and coffee. Alex went above and beyond—he quickly arranged a rental car for us and even booked a taxi to the airport on our last day. The location is central, making it easy to reach all the main sights by car. Highly recommended!

Everything was perfect! Alex and Effie were so attentive and friendly, breakfast was amazing every morning and the property was beautiful and very clean. Excellent location as it’s in a quieter area but very easy to get to busier areas such as Fira. We would definitely come back!
