“Amazing stay, I recommend.”

Amazing value for money! Decent rooms, great common area, and the small number of rooms means every guest gets the host's full attention. The host couple was extremely helpful (with transport, ski rentals, general place recommendations). Their sauna right is absolutely wonderful, especially since after skiing you're feeling too lazy to go out into the city for some public sauna. Sound insulation is decent. Breakfast was just right: not too much variety, but the essentials were there.

Very lovely BNB in a residential neighbourhoos walking distance to the city centre. The owner is fantastic and goes out of his way to make your stay comforable. He was so helpful when I fell sick and had to stay an extra couple days unexpectedly, and was able to get me breakfest early when I had to leave early one day. Breakfast is lovely, good selection and fresh egg-based dishes on request. Would absolutely stay again.

“Lovely stay in the foothills, yet close enough to the center”

The location of the B&B was really quiet in a little side road close to the foothills of the Tianshan. The place was very well equipped, even with a bookshelf stopped with literature about outdoor activities. The host Ahmet was a source of information went out of his way to help me with a technical problem with my Garmin device. I could even use his computer to update the firmware - this helped me greatly in my navigation in the country. The breakfast was sumptuous and tasty. Ahmet was always around to check that everything was to our liking. I would definitely come back and stay again, and I cannot hesitate to recommend this place warmly.

A lovely quiet area of town, very clean and great breakfast!

We stayed here five nights in total in August 2024 using it as a base to explore the nearby mountains. The owner was very helpful and assisted us with booking transport to our next destination, ordering taxis etc.

Ahmet from Hillside Karakol speaks perfect english, provided a lot of advice regarding restaurants and transfers and allowed us to leave our car on premise during our 6 day trek along the Ak Suu Traverse. Availability of washing machine and dryer was also appreciated.

Lovely place to relax after hiking. There is a lounge and kitchen you can use at any time and a laundry. The breakfast was delicious. Great value for money too. I wish we’d been able to stay longer.

A true hidden gem that offers an authentic travel experience. The guest house has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a shared kitchen, cozy common area, and a charming little library. Free coffee, tea, and filtered water are thoughtful details that make a big difference. The breakfast was hands down the best we had in all of Kyrgyzstan – fresh, generous, and made with care. The owner is kind and genuinely passionate about the place, and it shows. A stay here feels personal, relaxed, and truly special. Highly recommended!

“Quiet and comfortable B&B”

Hillside was clean and comfortable and in a quieter part of town which was just what I was after. Breakfast was great with a good range of options and freshly cooked eggs was a treat! Ahmet was a fantastic host and was incredibly helpful with any questions I had a so couldn’t have asked for more.

Owner was very kind and spoke perfect English and Turkish. Our room was relatively large, very clean and newly furnished. Breakfast was plenty and diverse as well. The owner kindly kept our car in the property while we were at Altyn Arashan for three days as well.

The guesthouse resembles a hotel in Europe and is very well-equipped. Breakfast was abundant and very tasty. The room was spacious and very quiet, great for a relaxing night after a long day of hiking.
