“Comfortable and unique stay”

The restored property was a wonderful place to stay. The room was comfortable and the typical Turkish breakfast perfect. But what really made it special was Emin, his care and courtesy.

“Close to Afrodisias”

Beautiful historic place to stay close to Afrodisias. Emin bey was super helpful and enthusiastic. He also lent me a more appropriate walking stick. Breakfast was lovely!

I was just looking for a place to stay for one night to visit Aphrodisias the next day, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my trip. The house is an historical 300 years old mansion, comfortable, very charming and special, renovated with a lot of love and care into a small hotel, and with a lush garden in front. The room is nice and comfortable, full of history and charm as well, and the bathroom is not big but it's functional and does well the job. The best part of my short stay was to meet Emin, the gracious host and owner of the guesthouse, such a kind, charming and sweet gentleman. He welcomed me on the street, offered me some tea and cookies in the living room while he was doing my check in, and then we had a little chat using the phone's translator. The next morning he prepared a plentiful local breakfast, it was delicious and homemade, he and his wife themselves make the halva, the cherry jam and grow the olives. While I ate breakfast, Emin sat with me with his tea and we had a lovely conversation (with the translator) about diverse topics, like local history, Aphrodisias visiting tips, his family, mine, his hobbies, his olive trees and his love for antiques. He also told me about the house's renovation and his garden and plants. It was such a lovely time and it was hard to leave! I hope to return again.

“You won’t find a better place to stay ❤️”

Everything! This has been one of our best stays ever. Emin, the owner, is a jewel of a person. The conversations with him during the evening, accompanied by a tea, are a true experience. The house itself is a piece of history, and was renovated in a very intelligent and sober way. The balcony is just so much more than that, and overlooks the beautiful garden/patio in which Emin serves a great breakfast. We will definitely stay there again if we go back to the region. We had the best of the times!

“Great historical mansion, incredibly welcoming”

This was one of the best stays of our trip! The hotel is an antique ottoman mansion, right in the center of the small town of Karacasu, near Aphrodisias archaeological site. We were very well greeted by Mr. Emin, a former school teacher and the hotel owner, who was friendly and sensitive to all of our needs. We arrived in the night, very hungry from our road trip, and he promptly recommended a nearby pide restaurant (whose staff he knew by name, as well!). The mansion is beautiful. You can feel the history pouring out of the walls, the (very well-preserved!) mobilia, as well as the 300 year-old room doors (!!!). Mr. Emin is clearly in love with this house in which he spent his childhood. Even though it is an old mansion, every modern addition worked perfectly - from the air conditioning, to the hot showers, to the internet connection. But the best thing about our stay was the breakfast. Everything was fresh and locally made. Mr. Emin told us the butter and the helva were made on his own farm. We literally ate everything, to the crumb. What also made it most special was Mr. Emin's friendliness and nice chat. The night before, having noticed Mr. Emin's love for history, we asked for books he could recommend about the history of Turkey; in the morning, he told us he had contacted a fellow history teacher and brought us a full list of books, from pre-historical to modern day Turkey! It was amazing, and we are very grateful for our stay there.

“Lovely host and a great base for Aphrodisias”

Emin is a lovely host and a font of knowledge about the region - his kindness and generous hospitality made me feel at home despite the language barrier (he is highly adept at his phone's translation app!). Karacasu makes a fine base for visiting Aphrodisias (my favourite of the ancient Aegean sites), fuelled by a wonderful home-grown breakfast.
