“Surreal property and the most genuinely kind staff I have ever encountered!”

I stayed here from May 24th to the 26th, and I can honestly say this place exceeded every expectation. The estate is absolutely beautiful and decorated so nicely. The outside is what really takes your breath away because the surrounding trees and greenery make the entire property feel surreal and peaceful. What truly sets Flame Tree Estate apart is the staff. I have traveled globally and experienced great service, but the hospitality here is from another planet. They pay attention to every single detail. They actually remembered the specific fruits I liked, my exact coffee order, and my favorite drinks, always making sure I had exactly what I wanted before I even had to ask. Huge praise to the owner David and the General Manager Angelo Perera. Your team is fantastic. Manju, Hirad, and Lahiru took such great care of me and were incredibly kind every single day. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

“Heaven on Earth”

The house is incredibly beautyful and charming with Art Deco funiture, local antiquities and lots of paintings on the walls . Also the garden and the pool are just heavenly. The food niveau is solid and the staff is always friendly, helpful and caring. The atmosphere is cosy and familiar, that you can get in contact with lovely people, If you want to, as we did. We loved that place and will certainly come back.

“Heaven!”

This place is absolutely amazing. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It was by far the best place we stayed in Sr Lanka. We were greeted with a warm welcome by the manager and throughout our stay the service was outstanding. The owner has created a beautiful residence based on the original colonial home. Art work adorns the hotel which feels more like someone’s precious home. Our room was spacious, decorated with antique furniture and featured a secluded outdoor shower with a huge deck overlooking the jungle and sunset. The infinity pool was perfect with ample loungers. Dinner was excellent with a varied menu. Be sure to take a walk around the grounds and experience an amazing massage.

The perfect chill for a few nights in the jungle.

Absolutely beautiful property about 45 mins away from Kandy. Serene setting and fantastic interior design. Incredible breakfast spread. Stunning pool. Could see the stars at night. Pleasantly cool weather in the evenings and morning. Possibly the best property we stayed during our 10 days in Sri Lanka. We wish we’d stayed for more than 1 night.

Loved every moment. It was like being invited to stay at a long lost family member's Sri Lankan estate. It's a beautifully renovated building, filled with carefully curated artifacts. Unlike anywhere else we've ever stayed. Supper was delicious sat on the verandah. Stunning views. All staff knew what you wanted without saying a word! Just magical! (And the doggies, daren't forget them. Super cute)!
