We arrived on an early boat and were able to check in right away - much appreciated. We paid extra for first row seaside view when booking the place: And it was worth it! Clean resort, paradise atmosphere. Good food at the restaurant.

Great staff especially Jimmy and Danish. Very helpful. Great vibe. Mama’s Place cafe great food, great prices exceptional service by the boys. Quiet with beach in front because it’s too shallow to swim, go around corner to the best beach with baby sharks and turtles and fish and lots of people. Met fabulous people. Property/ room was basic. Yes ants and geckos. Aircon excellent and fan. Bed comfortable. Well kept gardens. Good balcony.

We were given chalet 204 which is next to the public path and workers chalet. Also a noisy and smelly power generator behind it.I spoke to reception who were not helpful at all. The room was very small with no top sheets only an old cover. Difficult to charge the phone as the plugs are half way up the wall with no tables to put it on.

“Beautiful location, great restaurant”

Brilliant location - great views (plus beach chairs and hammocks) over the water directly outside (although not a usable beach) and only a short walk to the best snorkelling beach on the island (at Perhentian Island Resort). Loved the restaurant and its water views - nice food, good value for money, quick service and accommodating of requests for vegetarian options. It was also easy to hire snorkelling gear and organise a snorkelling trip on site, and leave luggage for storage between check out and departure. I also really appreciated the swift, efficient assistance via WhatsApp from the Mamas tour office to organise not only boat transfers but also taxi transfers to and from the train station and airport at either end of my trip.

“Relaxing and dream place!”

The guesthouse was exactly in front of the sea and in a very convenient position on Besar. It was very easy to reach the main beach of the island PIR in 10-15 minutes walk and very comfortable to reach the nice restaurants and bars in front of the sea. The staff had been very kind and helpful to give us tips and support to explore the islands, they offer restaurant and punctual taxi services, over a laundry service ( but didn’t use). They are big family working in the structure and they are very warm with guests. The room was essential but with all comforts (villa with sea view), with a relaxing nice patio, we found very clean. Very much suggested!

Absolutely perfect location. Next door to the Perhentians Island Resort which has the best snorkeling spots and a beautiful beach within a 10 minute walk along the beach. Great air con.

Mama's Restaurant and the accommodation here offer a joyful experience. The owners and staff are incredibly kind and helpful, making you feel right at home. Don't miss the excellent breakfast at Mama's – the waffles and Roti Chanai are highly recommended! The huts themselves are comfortable, boasting fan, and AC for a pleasant stay. While there isn't a beach directly in front, the sea is easily accessible for swimming, and the view from the hut towards the other island is lovely. This location is also a good base for exploring the Perhentian Islands, whether you're interested in jungle trekking, diving, snorkeling, boat tours, or simply relaxing on the beach. Even with the warm temperatures, the bathroom's water heater is a thoughtful addition (for people who like hot showers if outside temperatures are 35degC)
