Naoko is the very definition of “the ultimate host”. She is kind, generous, and gracious. Her local knowledge is spot-on. She knows some fantastic spots in the area to swim, relax, eat, and tickle our artistic side. Her property is absolutely amazing and encompasses complete usage of a refurbished main house, a separate modern accomodation suite, and several outdoor areas. The star of the stay is Naoko’s food. She is an exceptional chef who will serve up more delicious dishes than you can possibly eat; you will not be disappointed 😊

There is a choice of two accommodations, either traditional approx 100 year old japanese house (tatami, futon) or modern but cozy cabin, all at sole disposal. Great for bigger groups (we were only 2). Naoko provides for a great game meat meal dinner (extra cost) and breakfast (included). She is an excellent cook and host.

We had a truly unforgettable 3-night stay at the accommodation. The serene natural surroundings made us feel like we were in another world, and our host Naoko's warm hospitality made us feel right at home. I especially liked how the crickets chirped at night while I enjoyed the hot tub in the cool breeze. Her cooking was absolutely exceptional - we felt like we were enjoying personalized meals, and the flavors were truly unforgettable! Our child adored Taro the dog and Piyo the beautiful rooster and played a lot with them , and it was clear how much love and care goes into this special place. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with unforgettable experiences, look no further. We'll treasure the memories of our stay forever! Thank you Naoko for everything!

Seriously all, if you are travelling in this area, or even thinking about staying in Kochi City, stay at this place. Its not actually that far. Let me explain, host is amazing, best chef ever, rooms are comfortable and with style, everything and anything you can think of is included.

Naoko is an amazing host. She goes out of her way to make us feel comfortable and feeds us well. Her cooking is fantastic and she uses quality ingredients which we got to enjoy at breakfast and sometimes even supper! The accommodation was so unique and cosy with lovely touches. We enjoyed our stay tremendously as a family’s and it was easily one of the best holiday memories we had.

This stay is beyond incredible. We have traveled to Japan so many times, but Kami and Nook's Kitchen can easily be the top of our list now. Everything is perfect – the house is a wonderful blend of traditional and modern. Naoko-san is the warmest, most caring, and knowledgable host. We had the best time in Kochi thanks to her.

My friends and I had an amazing 4 nights stay in the super lovely Nook's Kitchen. Booking a stay here means access to a beautiful hundred-years old traditional house, a cozy modern annex building, a second level open balcony area with views of the mountains and countryside, an outdoor patio and the garden which is just steps away from rice fields - how often can you find such an accommodation! Naoko-san is the most hospitable and helpful host you can find - from the time of booking to long after we had left, she had most patiently answered our numerous questions and extended help in many ways, from travel recommendations to booking of restaurants and onsen, sourcing local goodies and more; she had made sure our stay is comfortable in every way. She is also an amazing chef with a wide repertoire - so even if you don't like game meat, she will be able to whip up something else that suits your palate and tastes just as delicious. Would definitely love to return to Nook's Kitchen for a stay again!

“a culinary relaxing memorable stay”

OMG! This is the best stay ever! Definitely beyond our expectations. It was in a lovely quiet countryside, with one modern style cabin facing the rice field and mountains, and one old Japanese style house facing the zen garden, and you can access both! The wooden hot tub was amazing ! Must try! If you plan a longer stay like 10 days you will absolutely fall in love with the slow pace of life and never get bored! You can relax in the backyard, have a little nap on the hammock! The owner has a dog, some chicken in the yard and many vegetables and herbs! I think the family with children will also enjoy the stay. Last but not least, the owner is an expert in cooking, especially meat. If you are a meat lover, game meat lover, you will find this place as your heaven. Me and my husband stayed there for 10 days, never having the same food twice. The owner also made our meals based on our likes and dislikes (my husband could eat his favourite Meringato, many times! and me, had a lot of sushi, sashimi and local seafood!). Overall, a memorable countryside culinary stay. Highly recommended.
