Great bargain if you travel with a car! It’s surprisingly warm in winter! Local supermarkets, restaurants and public Onsens are easy to access.

Self check in is smooth. Host communicates in Japanese, but it’s totally fine using translator. The house is spacious, but a bit messy overall. Futon is comfortable. Good value for the price (probably the cheapest stay in our trip). Only stayed for one night so we have nothing much to comment.

The house owner was ready and communicative to where we should meet. Very friendly AND gave some freebies lol. Gave very clear instruction about the what-nots and was prompt during meetup. The location is probably the best thing about it. Its so near the famed Asahi-Dake(sp?) mountains, that a morning walk is such a fun thing to do . ALSO, ITS VERY CLOSE TO THE FAMOUS BLUE POND. So that was a huge freebie in terms of trip planning. I would say for other renters, the area is a bit residential AND I think any person who'd like to rent this should have a car ready for ease. Its somewhat close to the trains BUT A Car can definitely help navigating this area. A lot of it, is not readily available via Bus or likes.

Owner was very nice and welcoming, we were offered some snacks upon arrival. He took time to explain everything. The futons were very comfy and warm, we spent wonderful nights.
