Location was fantastic, easy parking, quiet nights, good food in restaurant and the service exceptional and personally. Beds were comfortable and room had air conditioning. The owner served breakfast and i just loved it, best bacon and eggs in a long time

I was extremely happy with my room and facilities in general. It was comfortable and spotlessly clean. You share bathroom and toilet but there are two of each and only four guest rooms. It is near the port, 10 minutes walk from the train station and 15 minutes walk from Kalmar Castle. There are beautiful dark timber beams and stairs. I believe the original building was from the 1860s, but it has been nicely renovated. I also had a delicious meal in the restaurant downstairs. I only stayed 2 nights but, if I'd known how lovely the BnB - and Kalmar itself - was going to be, I would certainly have arranged to stay longer. The best part of my stay was meeting the host, Francisco and his wife - and dog. Due to problems with train delays, I arrived very late at night and was exhausted. Francisco had waited up and very kindly came to pick me up from the station. He and his wife were so hospitable and did everything they could to ensure I had a good stay. I didn't get a chance to say goodbye on the morning I left but would really, really like to thank Franciso and his family for making me feel at home and a valued guest.

“A good nights sleep”

It was very clean and the staff was amazingly friendly. I arrived in the evening and the chef went out to get some special food for me for the breakfast as I am a vegetarian, which was more than I had ever expected. It was a very warm day and my room was very hot when I arrived but I was fortunate to have an AC so my sleep was the best for a long time. :)

Small and cozy. Nice location by the harbour. No in-room bathroom but shared in the corridor which worked just fine. Wonderful breakfast cooked on the spot by the owner. Very friendly. Great steakhouse and pub on the bottom floor. Will definitely stay again next time I pass by Kalmar.

The stay was very nice, the location is just excellent! I would like to specially mention that the Portuguese couple, who are the hosts, are just amazing! I have never felt that welcomed anywhere else. Definitely adds up to the impression of Kalmar.

“Great place to stay”

The room was very spacious and comfortable, the accommodation itself is right in front of a big parking lot (eur 3 per day), next to the sea, near the castle and just across the street of Gamla Stan. The couple who hosted the place was very thoughtful, it already started with the check in. Then the breakfast was also great. On the first day we came very late to the breakfast and the host had an appointment so he let us bring the rest of the breakfast upstairs to finish our breakfast there. The woman who hosted and cleaned the rooms was also very nice, funny and helpful, she gave us tips where to go. The accommodation only had 4 rooms and 2 shared bathrooms. But they were not full, so we basically had the bathroom to ourselves. The bathroom was always clean and the hosts checked regularly if everything was OK. All in all we had a really nice stay. We unfortunately could not find time to try the restaurant.

Very warm and welcoming straff that provided great help and advice for places to visit. The breakfast was varied with a good amount of food to prepare your day. The room was spacious and clean, and the atmosphere felt really nice there as well as in the other facilities. Can't complain the slightest. Overall perfect with everything you would want and extra.
