Overview
A 5-minute walk from Tenmonkandori Tram Station, Nakahara Bessou offers Japanese-style and Western accommodations with a flat-screen TV and refreshing public hot-spring baths. JR Kagoshima Train Station is a 5-minute drive away. The building has been renovated with earthquake-proof construction and reopened in August, 2014. Japanese-style rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. All rooms include air conditioning, a safety deposit box and a fridge. The en suite bathroom comes with a bathtub and toilet. Nakahara Bessou Hotel is a 5-minute walk from Terukuni Shrine and a 5-minute drive from Shiroyama Park. Kagoshima Airport is a 50-minute drive away. Local souvenirs can be purchased at the gift shop and guests can relax with views of the traditional garden. Luggage storage and photocopying services are available at the front desk. Traditional multi-course meals are served for dinner and a Japanese set-menu for breakfast. All meals are offered at the dining room or the banquet room.

The onsen was amazing. The traditional rooms were nice and had good facilities. The view was good and the staff was very helpful. They say that Kagoshima has the most friendly people in all of Japan, and this hotel proves it. Worth it for the onsen alone, but you get so much more!

“Wonderful and relaxing stay.”
Simply great experiance. The hot spring was perfect tempreture at about 38c to 39c most days. The room was a perfect traditional Japanese room. Very specious. Location was also perfect for markets transit and restorants. Highly recomend this hotel.

“Great traditional room in a very central location”
Although the hotel is still a little old-fashioned (you hand in the key at reception when you leave the room), it has a certain charm. Everything was super clean and very tidy. There were even the designated toilet slippers, although of course they were a bit small for European feet ;) The room was very spacious and beautiful. There was fresh tea water every day. The staff were also super friendly and very helpful. The onsen was also very nice and any questions we had were answered immediately. All in all, very nice central location.
