The tranquility of Athulya Villas was amazing. This place was good for my soul with gorgeous views and the garden teeming with birds. The staff were so accommodating and the manager’s knowledge of the flora and fauna was second to none. The food was excellent, delivered to us with courtesy in a delightful courtyard setting in the centre of the main wallawa building, accompanied by our own personal frog. Simply delightful. We enjoyed walks in the environs around the resort, swam in the gorgeously elevated pool and had a personal tour of the gardens.

“Beautiful location and great service”

Amidst green lush hills you find this wonderful old planter’s villa that constitutes the main house of this beautiful resort. We spend some lovely relaxing days here over Christmas time. Thilan, the manager, is very friendly and so is his staff. He took us for a walk through the garden and for a trip to see an old temple nearby with astonishing drawings and gave us suggestions for local walks. Our kids loved the pool overlooking the hills. We highly recommend this resort.

“Amanzing place”

The villas are very nice, cozy and clean. The entire property looks amazing, very well maintained. The staff was super friendly and helpful, we had breakfast and dinner on our own terrace, they even helped us with the laundry, free of charge, because the service at the hotel they usually work with was not available at that moment.

“Magnificent place, best service, super nice people!”

Very very friendly manager, we got a tour through the fruit and spice garden. Nice swimming pool. The surroundings of the hotel are magnificent. It’s a 30 minute drive from Kandy but so relaxing after a day in a busy and noisy city as Kandy. Love this place!

The hospitality of the hosts was amazing. They collected our luggage on arrival and made sure everything in the room was ready. We were the only one staying in the whole property at the time of check-in so we got a VIP treatment. The chef is an amazing cook and the Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing. The chef was really considerate of our food requirements and made sure the food was according to our taste. The property serves halal food.

The garden is magnificent, the service is exceptional you can’t fault it! Attention to details and to the guests. The staffs go above and beyond to make sure that we are confortable and pleased, I had a cold and he recommended me a steam (in a bowl) which he brought a bowl and some herbs to the room.

This is paradise. The staff is wonderfull, the area is great, the cottage is luxe. The food is dilicious. Enjoy the peace, the sounds of the birds and the view all around. We loved the walk to the lake and the info about all the birds and flying squirrels.

Everything is awesome! Hospitality, nature, cosy villas, food - wonderful. To start with, all the staff of the hotel were really friendly and helped with any issue. Our hotel manager Thilan shared his knowledge about different birds, fruits, spices and vegetables in the garden ( and the garden is huge! also they often cook dishes with 100% natural ingredients from their garden). Then Thilan took us on a tour around hotel, where we could see beautiful lake, rice fields, animals and birds. Also, he took us to a beautiful temple and told lots of interesting details about this historic place. I have no words to describe how amazing it was. I highly recommend this hotel because it helps to feel the real hospitality of Sri lankan people 💕
