“Superb overnight stay, friendly helpful owner, great opportunities for bird photography”

The bird life is the main thing we returned for as it is a fabulous place for pine grosbeaks in winter. The owner is as lovely as ever, snd the evening meal was tasty and generous portions.

We stayed for one night and really enjoyed the warm, authentic Lapland atmosphere. The simple room was nice, with comfortable bunk beds and no mosquitos inside. The breakfast was good too.

“Cozy, friendly staff, clean and functional rooms - perfect when you want to stay a couple of nights.”

A remote location next to the main road and still pretty quiet. During the time of our stay no à la carte menu was offered and we had a tasteful three course dinner instead. Very friendly and kind hosts and if you are into bird watching you will not be disappointed either. The rooms are cozy and fully functional. A little wildly mixed furniture and the feeling that time stood still. Not in a bad way - if you don't need fancy stuff only a good place to sleep, relax and enjoy nature this would be your choice. The breakfast was fulfilling our needs more than enough. If we will be traveling up north again it will be on our favourite list and places to stay again.

the owner was very nice and helpful months before we arrived. She managed to have us picked up and helped us finding activities to do in the 24 hours we stayed. Her food at the restaurant was very delicious and good portions. the rooms are very nice and simple. the sauna is what we needed.

Like many visitors to this hotel, we are keen birdwatchers and visited because of the fantastic views that can be had of interesting species (e.g. Pine Grosbeak, Brambling, Redpoll) visiting the bird feeders next to the restaurant. We were not disappointed! Red squirrels also visited the feeders frequently. The owner also gave us some useful tips for seeing birds in the area. We really enjoyed the food in the restaurant. There was a good range of choices at breakfast. The room was comfortable and well equipped.

“Amazing wildlife experience”

We stayed here to enjoy birdwatching over breakfast and the place exceeded expectations. The room was cozy and warm in -25 degrees Celsius. When we realized we would be arriving late they were very helpful. We had the most amazing time over breakfast watching many red squirrels right outside the window and all the taiga bird species we hoped to see on the feeders. So glad we stopped here on the way from Finland to the Varanger peninsula.

Very nice family who is hosting, very comfortable, the rooms and the living room/Restaurant with very delicious food. You van watch a lot of birds from the window and squirrels 🙂 awesome landscape around.

“Perfect place to watch the Northern Lights in a cozy atmosphere.”

The Food and people there were amazing! The Location is really impressive. In the middle of nowhere we were able to watch the northern lights multiple days in a row.

I do not remember ever having stayed anywhere like this before but for us it was ideal just what we wanted. The sight of birds, (to say nothing of the squirrel), out of the window was quite exceptional. The communal microwave. The evening meal - exceptional.

Sympathic hotel. Nice breakfast with great view on the garden, where typical boreal birds are attracted by bird feeders.
