Overview

Poised alongside the Maligne River, just above the spectacular depths of Maligne Canyon, this serene hostel is an all-season destination. Travelers will enjoy an array of hiking, cycling, and cross-country skiing trails. The nearby Skyline Trail offers one of Jasper National Park's most scenic hikes. This is a wilderness hostel with limited creature comforts - no running water, no showers or washing area, and no flush toilets. We do have purified water for cooking, a refrigerator, propane stoves and electricity for the lights.

Really appreciated and valued the owner/staff. She was friendly, personable and helped my friend and I find the best sunset location. She was definitely ready to help with whatever we needed. The beds we're comfortable and was warm. It was a bit one of the city area but with a car, it was pretty accessible. But many beautiful viewpoints and hikes nesrby. For what its worth, it was a great accommodation.

Back to basics wilderness hostel, but its warm and has everything you need!

Location of the hostel is great, a short drive to Jasper, or some amazing walks. It definitely is a 'back to basics' hostel, but the rooms and kitchen were warm even though it was 0 degrees outside!

Basic accomodation for a reasonable price in Jasper

The room was OK and warm. The host very helpful. Officially, there is no internet, but in reality, Internet was available. Although not that reliable and slow it was a benefit. Maligne Canyon is close-by. It is also a good starting point for going to one of the main attractions, the Maligne Lake. (but a car is strongly recommended) If you look for something not too expensive, it is an option.

I cancelled but was not refunded

I did not stay in this place. I did not expect that it was a cabin in a very secluded area. We did not fell safe to stay.

Amazing two nights

It is one of my favorite wilderness hostels near Jasper. Amazing location, quiet, always nice people mostly from Europe. I highly recommend it. There is a creek near by and the Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen is 200 meters.

I was so happy to be able to find 2 nights in a row at this wilderness hostel. It is just past Maligne Canyon. The kitchen is great and has everything. The dorm has 6 beds and I got a bottom bunk. The staff was very nice. I made a big camp fire but it has to be out by 10 pm.
