The location is ideal for anyone heading to the slopes at Himos Ski Resort. Everything you need for a ski holiday is close by. The hotel has good parking, which made arriving and unloading gear very easy. One of the highlights was the well-equipped ski drying room – it even had a proper waxing table, which is a big plus for skiers. The facilities were nice and practical. There is a pool table, as well as a dartboard, table football and table hockey for use free of charge There’s a communal kitchen that seemed well equipped, so it would be easy to prepare your own meals if you prefer. Right next to the hotel there’s a Thai restaurant and a burger restaurant, both serving decent food. If you want more options, the centre is only about 1.5 km away, where you’ll find more restaurants as well as grocery stores. Some reviews mention that the hotel feels a bit old, and while it’s not brand new or luxurious, we found it perfectly suitable for a ski vacation. The rooms were not cold during our stay, and everything worked as it should. If you’re looking for affordable accommodation and good value for money close to the slopes, this place does the job very well. Breakfast is served across the street at a gas station. It was okay – not anything special, but perfectly fine to start a day on the slopes. Overall, a solid and practical choice for a ski trip.

The rooms are cold in winter. The radiators are cold, the shower floor is very cold, and the radiator was completely cold/not working. The rooms with air pumps are also uncomfortable, as the pumps do not work properly. There is no public sauna, even though this option was available when booking. After a day of skiing, there is nowhere to warm up, which is very strange for Finland.

“A good and practical choice while skiing in Himos”
Stayed at Jämsä Hotelli while skiing in Himos. Overall a really good and practical choice. The hotel is about 9 km from Himos, roughly a 10-minute drive, which was totally fine. Big plus: free parking, both in front of the hotel and also at the Himos parking lot. The hotel is fully automatic — before arrival you receive a code that gives access to the front door and your room. Very smooth and hassle-free check-in. The room itself was decent and clean, nothing luxurious, but perfectly okay for a ski trip. All in all, a nice, straightforward hotel and a good value option when skiing in Himos. Would stay again.
