I got a message saying I was offered a free sandwich if I gave the place good scores. This property has a restaurant which closes at 4 o'clock. It opens at 11 o'clock. There are many pictures of the restaurant, but you will have no access to it, unless you stay several days. The restaurant had a terrible odor, which is not common in Japan, . The bad smells was probably from some old food. The quest house has a common room which is displayed on the pictures. The staff closed the door to it and rested on the floor. They had some friends visiting. They did not want me to enter the common room. But I was given hot water into my own teacup when I asked for it. I had my own teabag. 99There is no kitchen, only the kitchen of the restaurant. I was the only guest but I don't think the staff wanted me there. I felt like an intruder and stayed in my room. Left on my bicycle at 6 o'clock the next morning. It took a day or two to get the terrible odor of the place out of my mind

Great little hostel, just stayed for one night. The pods were comfy and private. Everyone was considerate at the property. They showed me how to use the washer and dryer and were really nice.

Awesome view, very close to the beach to take photos of the sunset, right next to the JR station and on top of a family owned store.

Incredible place with beautiful sunset and such a cool design of the whole interior. So artistically decorated and traditional structured building. Also has a wonderful playful kitten that’s so cute. I highly recommend this place

“Absolutely worth the price”
Cold parts of breakfast were left in the fridge. The rice was ready in the cooker. I had to re-warm the soup myself. Very good!

“A must if you love beaches!”
Everything about this accommodation was amazing. I would highly recommend if you are visting matsuyama and want to get away from the city for a night. I stayed here because of Aoshima (cat island). Unfortunately I could not go to aoshima because the ferry being repaired but I still think the journey was worth it for the views of the sea (especially sunset) and this amazing hostel. The facilities are good, though there's only one toilet and basin and two showers but not bad because there's only 6 beds in the bunk bed room so I found it fine. The hosts were so nice and even offered me some local food to try! Also it has a kotan which was really nice to try. Would highly recommend!!!

“tranquil and very friendly hostel by the sea”
very friendly staff, we were few guests and spent a nice evening all together. I got recommendations for places to visit. The village is very quiet and beautiful, there's a lookout point o a hill after a bit of a hike to one side of the village, and a very old hidden temple at the other end after some walking. It's a very quiet area altogether, the train comes about 4 times a day and there's not much distraction, only the endless beautiful coast and hills. I liked it so much that I extended my stay for 3 nights and spend all the days walking around and taking the train along the coast.

I felt very much at home ❤️ It was a very pleasant stay and the staff is very kind and helpful and fun to be with. We had a BBQ on the rooftop and the view with the sunset was amazing. Will come again!

“Perfect.”
Incredible. Nice quiet location, amazing rooftop with views of the sunset over the Inland Sea, bed was comfy and the room nice and cool thanks to air con. Staff were like long lost mates and spoke perfect English, making the whole stay feel like home. Wish I had stayed longer!

The room next door was very loud. They were having a party until late and the walls are pretty thin.
